crikey... i feel we are back in the 80s and cookie is wearing pearls again. cyndi lauper??? third day today on the vege juice. i am slowly getting used to it and it is causing acne which is an indicator that it is doing something! no chocolate or direct sugar so far this week. Funnily enough i am feeling a bit less tired.
hi ladies... i'm alive... just been struck with diahorea(?) last week which lasted 4 days. been a bit shattered the last few days now... the good news is, as any annorexic/bulimic would know that diorhea (i wish i could spell the word) is good for weight loss). though think i've already put on a kg from what i was on monday.
hope you are all well - karen - hope you enjoyed your wee break and mackenzie is feeling better (god i love a breakfast buffet)!, jane... you seem to be going awful good on the exercise front - well done you - very inspirational! sim - tried ringing you back over the weekend (sunday i think it was) but couldn't get you - home line engaged. will try later if i'm still up at reasonable time tonight. j xxx
Oh and Cyndi Lauper was so very cool. She had such amazing energy. She sang, danced, ran and climbed on speakers! And she is 54!!! Made me feel like a big fat unfit slob but apart from that the night was fun! LOL.
Poor cookie crackers... sorry to hear about your runny few days! Nice to hear from you all - sorry I have been delayed with the posts, etc... entertaining Dad, sister & nephew. Unfortunately have not made it to the gym as often as I was hoping. Doing some exercise while we are out and about which is something and pleased enough that I have not put on weight.. back in the 9's & 5's..... Looking forward to beginning detox on Saturday (I say that now, but wait until I have the coffee withdrawals)... nastiest headache you can get.... Yuk!
i had a cup of coffee today after 8 days and it was a DELIGHT. One of my trainees offered me chocolate today and i said 'no thanks i am not taking chocolate at the moment'. so in the last week one slip on the choc front and one slip on the coffee front. next step is cutting down the carbs. Cookie - you might notice that my foods have been close to sandras detox diet... (thats sandra cabot - liver cleansing woman) i am aiming towards it. next week i am doing 2 week sandra detox. (K too). so that i dont kill work people i am trying to cut things out before hand. have you bought the book smuth?
yeah - my health has been crap lately! after my case of the "runs" i then got a bit of the flu back that i had before... not as bad as last time but my ears all blocked again and coughing and achey... i've obviously got some terrible immune difficiency disorder!
food eating has been pretty bad this week as it includes many variations of bread instead of any veg. ie - the sandwich. toast. the toasted sandwich. the grilled cheese. and a bread roll or two.
v. bad.
yes sim i'll have a wee look at the liver diet book again - i know it promotes cutting the carbs and dairy. i take it that that is what your doc is recommending?
love to jane and karen...
nice to see you eating stovies for dinner - kevin would love me to make such scottish treats for him!
jury duty sounds scary jane... though i kind of thing i would like to be picked for the scary messy cases. or maybe that's just in my imagination!
poor cookie. eating veg instead of toast dinners might help. the doc said my illness is probably some nasty bug in my belly or bowel, so he gave me some fibre stuff until results are in (another two weeks). To be proactive in the mean time i thought i would give my liver a spring clean. no obvious sugar for a week and i am feeling marginally better. on saturday i am going harder and cutting the bread. k and i are starting the liver ladies detox on saturday. so join us oh sick one in vegies and legumes!
Lecturing again today.. i said i wouldnt do it again.. but they have drawn me back into their web. money problems are the key to their success. my tax bill is due this month ($5500) the tests have cost thousands and yesterday my car broke down.So i have to teach. i also have a second housemate moving in on saturday, and have deferred my outrageously expensive masters for a year - so hopefully at some point in the future the $$$ will go away! yes as well as my extra weight!
Ahhh.... last day of crappy poisonous, toxic food!! Looking forward to cleansing the system... god it needs it after the past few days of eating crap and lacking exercise!! Too scared to get on the scales - will leave that until Monday for the weigh in after I have been detoxing for the next 2 days.
lol... the only thing k can eat on the detox that has been eaten over the last three days is a green salad. lol...good on you though for keeping the points to a minimum.. i tell you having my car go to heaven has helped with the exercise. 90 minutes today just to get to work and then grocery shopping. going to geelong to look at a car tomorrow afternoon. planning to eat minestrone soup for dinner with salad. while it wont be sandras it will be closer than a burger. good luck team.
did you know miss jane is on tour later next month? major event around australia.. they say its a sell out!
yes k - caffine is bad bad bad! its a bit annoying that I gave up for quite a while but have slipped back into it. not much - i probably only have 1 or 2 cups per day of coffee, tho usually tea. and you get the worst achey headache trying to give up!
i'm swithering as to what to have for breadkfast today - we've got some nice thick white bread - gee i'd love a fried egg sandwich... but maybe i'll have porridge instead :(
not much to say here - i've not weighed myself all week either - not eaten loads but i've certainly eaten a lot of crap and takeaways.
feeling much better tho ears are still a bit blocked. not much to say on the exercise front either - need to kick start something though as i'm due to do the moonwalk thing for charity in june ( its a half marathon - though it's walking). yes - really must start doing some training!
any way - am very impressed with the diet entries over the last few days... hope everyone is starting to feel better over the other side of the world and that you are feeling warmer sim... and that karen is not feeling so sick in tummy... and jane - well i don't hear that you are sick but i hope you've had a nice weekend!
Good day to you all.. Starting to feel pretty good with all of the good food going in to me.. not a great deal of energy but no more headache which is somethin! On the weekend I had some nasty pains in the tummy.. could not sleep all night, so by 3:30am I dragged myself to emergency. I stayed there until 10:30am, while they tested me - blood pressure, pulse, blood, urine, x-ray, pushing & pulling... They told me that I may have an ovarian cyst or gall stones and that I needed an ultrasound. I went for an ultrasound yesterday and it turns out that my gall bladder is like a 'bag of rocks' (as per the radiographer's comment). I have multiple gall stones.. hence the pain when I was eating a lot of crap food. Next step - see GP, get referred to a surgeon and get the little rocks out... I told SR that may be the rocks weigh about 2 kgs and therefore will create a quick and convenient loss of weight!! Nice to hear from everybody and nice to see a Cookie post. Glad you are back to better health Cookie cracker... and looking forward to seeing the Dish & SR next month (are you both still coming??)
Poor Karen! Good that they were able to diagnose you so quicly though. When I was reading your entry I thought wow I had pains in my belly all weekend. I hope I can get something removed! LOL. Seriously, sorry to hear you are in pain. Keep us informed.
Simone - sorry to hear about your car. And yes you will be super fit with all the extra walking.
I was at MM for the weekend - my nephew's 18th birthday. Lots of sitting and eating. So no goal weight loss for me this week. Very upsetting.
And yes K still plan to visit you for your birthday.
come on jane - i think you meant your nephew was 8... not 18!
i reckon those stones will weigh a bit... i mean they are stones!
day 4 on detox today and as k said it is a bit tiring... already tired and now more tired. but interestingly it is a different sort of tired than the fatigue tired. more a body slowing down to do some business. anyway.. maybe that will pass by tomorrow or the next day. lets hope.
Had quite a bit to eat yesterday - it would seem that I might have had too many toasts or too much avocado because at 3:30am this morning - BAM.. the pain hit! Took too many pain killers from 3:30 - 10:30... made me feel nauseous & dizzy.. had to call Simon to come home at 6am as could not look after the little peanut. All in all I have not had the best of mornings. Pain has gone now.. went to see the Dr at 1pm today and she has referred me to a surgeon who I will see next Thursday... She suggested that with the number of rocks present they will probably just remove my entire gall bladder. I wonder how much it weighs.... I can't believe I am detoxing and still getting pain... might be easier not to eat at all. Good luck to you all..
Morning everyone! A hot day in Melbourne and the aircon at work is broken. yay. Maybe i'll sweat some weight off? Karen - I hope your day is pain free. Simone - how is the car shopping going? Justine - staying healthy?
PS. Someone is "shunning" me at work. I am not coping. Sigh. It really makes my day long and painful. Not sure what I said or did but apparently it was horrendous. LOL.
miss jane miss jane... me too! i have had a shunner for the last three months! it is amazingly undermining. he is lower than me but acts like he is the top dog, and when he does speak to me it is telling me what to do. yesterday i offered to help him with a flow chart because i have the IT and he just turned his head and gave it to his boss to do. last month in a meeting he was referring questions on my program (that i manage) to the only bloke in the room. I complained a bit to those sitting near me and they reckon that he is just threatened as he doesnt have my quals or experience and yet we both came from the same base. i think he is just a rude penis.
Gotta love the shunners! You people are funny. I think you should confront them... Do it... The Dish rang last night and made an interesting observation - it would seem that SR, JE & KH all have had some illnesses and conditions lately but JS has been illness free.... very unusual and excellent (for Dish, not for us)
yes k unusual. very unusual. i must say however, aside from my fatigue, i do feel somewhat better physically. not so hungry any more. good choices for you k over the last two days - well done champ. oh yes... the latte. was teaching on thursday and was very tired.. barely able to drag my self into town to do the lecture.... succumbed to the coffee (smallest they had). did the same again today. had a planning meeting with the business manager - again after a bus, two trains and walking i was buggered before the day begun.
public transport... ick... dads car stopped yesterday. it seems i have a midus touch for cars. anyone want me to give their car a drive?? anyway.. on holidays today for 10 days (4 really but with easter and weekends..) very happy about that planning to spend the time doing nothing. lying down and readng, movies, lying down. doc next wednesday... kisses to all...:))
nice eating over the last two days again k. that is the eating of a champ! a healthy, veg filled champ! just like myself and the champ that i am too. the gluten free business is very good. i was in the 'silly yaks' shop the other day (pun on cileacs) and they had all these delicious looking cakes that were sugar packed. it seems you can get gf but not without sugar!
Hi everyone, wow so much going on. Sorry to hear about your Dad's car. But yes at least you are getting lots of walking. Not good in this heat of course.
karen - how are you.
as for me...I put on weight this week! Just a couple of treats and no walking and BANG! I have undone 3 weeks work! ARGH. Apart from that - all is good.
Don't worry Dish - 3 wks work can be achieved very quickly again.. don't be a dork, get out and walk!! (don't mean to call you a dork, but it is the only thing that rhymed with walk) YOU are a champ Sim - your calories are getting lower and lower.. and you keep moving everyday. Well done!!
I am doing OK - thanks for asking Dish. I have not had any more pain apart from little twinges and niggles which are no bother.
We had a lovely day on the beach at the Gold Coast on Saturday. Took the peanut to the beach for the first time in her little rip curl wet suit. She loved putting her little feet in the sand and wanted to eat the sand.. a nice afternoon, although you can imagine the mess of sand and crap (that we dragged back home).
Everybody sounds very well.. Only 3 more months until the Sex and the City movie!
currently eating detox soup for breaky, yum yum... it is actualy quite satisfying. picked up my car yesterday after some money juggling. it is a very nice car and quite speedy. mitsubishi 2002lancer, 2 door coupe, silver, 1.8. thank the good lord otherwise it would have been the spectrum of public transport to get to the doctors today. all ye prey for a diagnosis!
wow - k and s im impressed at your diet over the last while. so very very healthy and with so little "bad" stuff!
have had a few busy days... and went out one night last week (for a fashion preview and free champagne oohlala!), which made my head sore and body tireed for days on end. had a good night tho - got chatted up by some young 20 something and asked for my number. well - ok - it was a chick rather than a guy but still complimentary!
diet has been so - so the last week. still doing porridge for breakie - sometimes soup/salad for lunch - but if too tired to do dinner succumb to toast with cheese/eggs or something similar for dinner. promise to pull out my food diary and get back on track.
sim - can't believe you broke dads car! lol.. oh dear. new car sounds cool tho. janey - shame about that silly kg that found you again! i'm sure my losess will catch up with me this week! karen - hope your doc appt goes well tomrrow.
love to you all - need to go... so cold here our stupid boiler has broken and we need replaced (bet that will cost more than a new car!). sim - were you thinking about our boiler the other day and made it break?? jx
ha ha funny cookie. did i mention my new car has an aerial? for the last ten years i have been getting around with a coat hanger.
so i have a bad bacteria living in my bowel. bad bacteria. have to take antibiotics for one week then probiotics then back to antibiotics then pro.. anyway a 6 week cycle to kill it off. hopefully that does the trick and i find some energy!
Bad bugs in the tummy.. no good, but very good that you now know what is in your tummy and how you can fix it. Excellent work SR on the investigation of your body functioning.. braving the not so nice tests and the like... good on you! Nice to hear from you Cookie cracker... and hello to the Dish! Went to see the surgeon yesterday and he said that he strongly suggests removing the gall bladder, as not only is it full of rocks but it is contracting around them and not very happy, nor functioning as it should be, so basically it is just sitting in my gut holding a bunch of rocks causing me some pain now and then... I am going in to hospital (Mater Private, down the road) on 2nd May. I start back at work on the 1st May and then need to take the following day off to go to hospital. Key hole surgery and an overnight stay only... (assuming all goes well). Suggestion from Dr is continue not to eat fatty foods and stay clear of dairy.. .I guess I will have to find new ways to jazz up vegetables & fruit!
gosh... bad bacateria and bad gall bladders. we have very bad bodies!
sim - hope the antibac sort out your tummy bugs... what was the not so nice tests karen speaks of??
kar - well - looks like you will be a healthy eater for life now! gosh... must be quite a scare for you, but from what i've read the surgery is relatively routine. a bugger about the timing going back to work - never quite smooth sailing! you'll have a very busy time in may im sure!
not much to say from here - boiler being fitted next friday so another week of chilliness. its costing about half my yearly wages... yay! i'm sure boilers are more expensive in colder climates... a captive market - its not like you can live without one!
not much else to say - going for some work drinks tonight so i'll say sorry to my liver now... jxx
i went to see some sort of asian fella today in a centre that practices Ki. who the hell knows what this is - but the blurb is that it helps shift energy for those who are fatigued. i figure that's me... it was pretty normal (extreme pushing of pressure points) except for the crazy gushing noises he kept making. whooooosssshhh... whoooooshhhh. i think he spat on me. anyway i do feel marginally less tired - which may be the antibiotics!...
Stop Wooooshing..... Undoubtedly Dish, I can still enjoy a birthday drink or 2!! Slept terribly last night ... crazy dreams. Not sure if it was the soy latte, the 20c size piece of chocolate or the heavy period... Finally in Brisbane the sun has begun to shine and the rain has run away for the moment... So much nicer waking up to a sunny morning... Hope everybody is healthy and well
you had a big walk yesterday! and with low points... me with my extra piece of something bumps me back up. no more extra bits!!!! miss j, maybe there is a timetable available. how is your shunner going? mine is doing it to someone else higher up the food chain... she is mad as hell about it and has started systematically plucking his wings offs. ha ha... shunner be gone.
Hello girlies.... Went to a Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant last night with Mothers group - chose not to have the banquet with the ladies, but just had some salad, prawns & vegies and bit of rice. Want an interesting place.. it is only up the road and I have never been before - it was a treat!! Was a little concerned about the butter that was being added to the vegies & prawns.. thinking that would cause me some pain in the morning. I do have a slight pain this morning, but not a bad pain.. Oooh, that was probably also due to the small kit kat I had last night which I just remembered I forgot to add to my list of yesterdays food... You are doing well on the food SR and also regular exercise.. good on you!! I am a big fan of those nut bars you got me on to! Hope everybody is well....
very good! it is difficult to go against the banquet eaters. they keep crying out .. come on be one of us. the other week we had cake at work and the guy that sits behind me had an apple instead (on some sort of diet).. she kept going on to him to have a piece of cake and said that if he didnt he would stop on the way home from work and buy a choc mud muffin... man,... some people. so good on you. jane rang the other day re the birthday weekend... what plans shall we have??
hello little ladies... diet been bad the last few days. lots of bread and pasta... bad bad bad. but it's so easy easy easy. everything been such a rush the last few days... our new boiler is in so we had a lovely warm night last night.
going out for lunch today so will see how good a girl i can be when eating out. just old faithful porridge for breakie so not so bad start to the day.
we're going to be off loading our two guinea pigs to someone that kevin works with - which means we will shift the computer into that walk in cupboard (where the piggies were).... which means i should be able to be a bit more regular on this blog! (comp currently in sarah's room). can't wait to be rid of the little stinky buggers!
Awww.. the little piggies are leaving! Is Sarah very fond of them? Everytime you mention porridge I feel like eating it Cookie. Well I have dropped another kilo, which is pleasing but sick of not being able to eat anything interesting!!! Glad your boiler is back on the bubble Cookster... and hope you enjoyed your outing for lunch! Hope everybody had an enjoyable weekend....
Hmm... Yeah I guess I have.. just flicked through my eating for the last 6 or so wks.. a definite reduction... I think I will feel lighter and thinner once these rocks have been removed... they make me feel bloated constantly, so I generally feel the same as I do when I have eaten too much food or something.. probably helps with not eating too much... I falsely feel that I have eaten too much a lot of the time.. Interesting....
like having some sort of band in your tummy but for less cost! me want stones too!! no no universe not really. back on anti-biotics yesterday just one day after the fatigue and foggy brain came back - day 6 after finishing the first course of anti-biotics.. interesting. i cant get over how little food ks is eating.... i think i might replicate her eating... what she posts on a tuesday will be my meals on a wednesday. lol... interesting. hey disho.. i am thinking of moving out of the 30s and 80s ... would you copy one of your compli... comple... (brain blank..what is the word?) a cd with lots of songs you hip young things like..?
err.. hello - what happened? i log on for a quick look and all of a sudden miss smuff is down to 91kg!
well done to you lady! gosh... you've really lost some propper weight the last few weeks! obviously you've got some serious health reasons why - if it were me i would probably feel depressed and bury my nose in a packet of tim tams. so well done you! i feel more motivated myself seeing how good you have done... rice crackers used to be a snack - but you show, actually they can be a meal!
k - do you know when you are going into surgery yet!
big hello to j and s... hope you are well janey and hope those antibiotics are kicking the bad bugs out of you sim!
me - my diets been pretty crap. need new batteries for scales which i will get today - but not weighed for a few weeks - scared to check but i will do tonight. sometimes you just know when you've put weight back on... feel more puffy!
Hello ladies... Your funny Cookie - we were waiting for you to get back and have a look. Yes I have dropped a few kilos just recently... I'd like to say it was through sudden discipline and wonderful motivation, but it is mostly through the threat of tummy pain... apparently Jane & Sim want rocks in their tummys! I am going in for surgery on Friday 2nd May. I am very pleased to have lost the weight but still watching out for SR who at some stage will come leaping toward my tail when she gets her bugs sorted! I think it is at about this stage of losing weight when it begins to become noticeable and my black shorts that would not do up at christmas, are now falling off me.. so much so I cannot wear them. I wish you all good weight loss for this week... SR - we really should post some of Sandra's delicious recipes for our friendly vegetarians.. they would enjoy them!
while my weight loss isnt progressing so well monty's is travelling quite fine. he went to the hospital for a couple of days this week for observation. it turns out that in addition to kidney disease he now has cat aids. As he is not sexually active, he apparently picked it up a while back probably during a fight. the upshot is that if he gets sick or scratched he has to go straight in for treatment. crikey. at least the talk of a $900 MRI has ceased for his sneezing - they wont do that with a cat who has aids.
karen passed me like a flash... it was like running the 100m against rebecca bate all over again! (ie. for jane - fastest girl in school!).
poor monty... with kitty cat aids. sim he is very lucky to have such a good person as yourself to look after him. others would have given up long ago (well. in fact they did!).
(must record food diary must record food diary as no recollection of what i ate yesterday). love to all xx
yes cookie... the food diary.. it is better to do it even if eating is not good because the words are reflected like a giant billboard. trev and zoe rang yesterday to go to japanese last night. said they would come here so we would walk the 5ks to and from the restaurant. they said they felt they should support me more in my comp with the qld girl. i advised them of rocks and they sighed and said that was bad luck.. lol..
Poor orange fellow... that cat has lived through some nasty stuff!!.. he is fighter that boy. Hello to you.. .sorry I have been off the blog, but I was holidaying in Tassie. Had a lovely time and basically stayed away from the nasty fatty foods. Have not exercised enough.. .although I should probably be allowed to count picking up, changing, rocking, etc etc.. a baby all day. Can't wait to see SR & JS very soon.. Cookie cracker - get that food listed in your little book... and send more photos of the wee one soon!
Suprised and pleased to have dropped some more weight.. no longer in the 90's!!.. I did always prefer the 80's. Good on you SR on your loss for the week..
hi ladies... yes well done to ms 80 something. that's very impressive.
it should give us some motivation to catch the wee skinny wench!
now... questions....
where is my food diary? why did i buy hot cross buns to eat for breakfast? and why did i have goey indian take away for dinner last night?
hope you are all well. big happy birthday to the lighter girl in our world. Sim and Jane hope you enjoy your short break in the coast of sunshine. wish i were there!! xx
Hot cross buns must be a big hit in the Scottish land... are they saving them in the shops for Christmas? Nice to hear from you Cookie.. and was lovely to see the lovely ladies over the weekend. A pity about the rain, but I had a wonderful time. Reminds me of how much I miss you all... so much laughing... I sides still ache. I at on average 24.5 points over the last 5 days. Not good! Too many. I guess it could have been much worse (especially if we had not done the exercise) Oh well... back to babies and business... Thanks again to the Dish & SR for a wonderful time in the land of rain!
you couldnt be pleased... weight up.. probably alcohol and pastries. will put conference and party food on later today. good luck to all and thanks for the weekend.
interesting that calories go right up when alcohol and others are involved... not entirely - i can certainly eat by myself. i see both k and i forgot simon's cold pizza that we bit on sunday! you 1 point me 250 cals. really i am a bit sick of being left behind. really must start three month exercise program tomorrow. could start today but would probably throw up my excess dinner calories. really am sick of ks arse getting smaller and running away!
D'oh off the rails yesterday. the top off was pizza last night. i had planned to come home and make beans after writing group - but instead i ate a tart and multiple pizza. d'oh.
Funny isn't it?... and I had beans and I don't even like them very much! Don't worry SR champ - jump back on the wagon and you are doing the exercise which is good. My points are too big - I am now eating as much as I was before... my average points has gone way up again. It is really unnecessary to eat so much food - as I had already proven!! Not suprisingly - little bit of pain this morning probably due to Muffins, chicken, apple cake & alcohol... Must buy Sandra's book!
Ahhh... the bean club!! I hope the beans don't affect you as they seem to affect me... Glad you had a lovely time with your parents dishgirl... I am ready enough for my first day back at work.. looking forward to it, but have forgotten what I am supposed to do..I guess it will all come back to me. Can't get enough of the relish that SR gave me. The green one was finished several days ago and I am more than half way through the red one.. Relish may be one of the most delicious foods in the whole world!
Better to put the toast down while chewing, better to put the spoon down while chewing/swallowing.. better to put the fork down while chewing... better to not talk while chewing... better to not eat at all and then we wouldn't have to chew and then we wouldn't have to decide about putting the toast, fork, spoon down while chewing....
not much to say but i did want to boast that i walked almost 7 miles last tuesday. my legs were so tired once i finished and sat down! but a good attempt. my charity walk is only 6 weeks away so need to kick start the training. will try and do a long walk sunday night if i'm feeling up to it. its kev's 40th birthday on saturday night though im not going to drink too much as i will be up with le kid on sunday.
glad to hear you lovely ladies had a good time during your weekend away in queensland. wish i were there with you all!
best wishes to mrs hill and her soon to be ex-gall bladder. hope it all goes well.
hello to miss jane who i've not really spoken to for ages. hope you doing well!
and good luck to ms simone who is starting her liver cleanse again tomorrow. maybe i will too. sometimes its just beyond me to write down my eating for the day though i know i need to! been reaasonable good though i think.
hey cook cookie, kh and i were to start this monday but as she is in recovery from her padlock surgery we are starting the following week. it is 8 weeks of most vege eating. so come join us... be one of us... I eat mostly like that but in the last 4 weeks the extras have come back again. they are killing me - bumping my intake of food up to a non-dieting getting fatter person. bugger. any way.... 8 weeks on liver cleansing and an expected loss of 6-10 kilos. that would be nice.
Padlock surgery... that's funny, once I figured it out... by the way, if anybody knows of a key that has a 2cm end on it, then the term 'keyhole' surgery may be appropriate but it is more like money box slot surgery.... or something.
Yes - liver cleansing in a weeks time Cookie carrot... come join us!
Hmmm... back in the 80's weight wise. Apparently a gall bladder and 16 stones don't weigh a great deal. Also - note in measurements an increased waist size... I am rather swollen in the tummy due to cuts and prodding... Will be very pleased when I am less sore... hard to find a comfortable position in bed as hurts to move too much .. can't move on my feet very fast. We took a walk yesterday which would normally take about 20mins... took us about an hour.. I walk like a little old lady! Oh well... things will improve and good riddens to you bag of rocks!!!
riddens? funny word. poor little lady with the extended belly.
i took my shoes to work today (on my feet) but they didnt walk at lunch time. i really have to train my shoes to go out - even for 30 minutes is better than nothing!
Written food in at 6.43 so that is it for today... will use the ww strategies for ceasing eating. have shower, clean teeth, go away from couch, get busy, go to bed.
Will do some writing. On the weekend i worked through my gambling manuscript and found 83 places where information needs inserting/expanding. In particular, place, research and characters. One such character is called Catherine who I lived with at South Bank. She is a trooper. super trooper. Do you like that name miss Jane? Anyway better go clean those teeth.
Good on you SR - I was just calculating your calories to kilojoules and to points. Did you know that approx 23 points (daily limit) equals about 1400 calories? You had a good day yesterday... It doesn't seem like many calories you were putting in your mouth (with the exception of the mini mars)... Damn chocolate. I have been eating it too in the last few days.. just because it is in the house.. evil brown stuff.
look here little miss nancy drew.. i dont think your formula for points=calories is quite correct. apparently the formula is a protected recipe akin to 11 secret herbs and spices. the formula takes into account calories, fat and fibre. Second, nancy, ww points dont include most veg or salad - so the actual calories per day for 23 points would be higher than 1400. it is more like 1700. let us take the test.. i will put in my food now and then calculate the calories... you do that with your old points.
lol... nice to see some scrapping dieters arguing over points vs calories!
oh... so tired after my sleepover shift at work last night. had arranged to go for a long walk tonight but have been scuppered by having to pick up the wee girl. oh well... can i will myself to go out walking at 830pm? we'll see...
karen glad to hear you are on the mend... you must be if you are out walking! yeah... that's some big keyhole surgery... maybe they use those big ones to measure with, you know the one you get when you turn 21?? good that you are rockless now.
eating not very good now as house has been filled with bad food in the fridge since kev's birthday on the weekend. yes i had birthday cake for lunch yesterday and today. though have been reasonable with my regular meals so that's good.
got to get new batteries for my scales cos i don't know what weight is... will pick some up tonight. (sarah has worked out new game of tapping foot on digital scales makes the numbers flash). this also mean the expensive lithium batteries only last a week.
janey janey... so jealous that you are going to fiji... how lovely for you. i wreckon that a tan always makes you feel a bit slimmer in bathers... you could always turn to an orange tanning booth to put some colour on if needed... otherwise i'm sure the fijian locals will love your curvaceousness!
simone = kevin says thanks for birthday message. was nice to hear you singing with soundeffects on the answering machine this morning! unfortunately he was out celebrating his birthday again last night so he wasn't fit to get up and answer phone. (i've told him birthday's are actually just one day of the year and not the whole week - but he doesn't believe me).
love to all... yes i have both of dr cabots books so i shall join you on your liver cleansing quest.
Yay... Cookie is joining in on the Liver cleansing.......Good on you crumpet!!
Oh yes - HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEVIN!!!... trying to yell so he will hear me. We did send off a birthday card to him... but it will arrive a little late Tell Kevin that Simon also has a problem with the timeframe of birthdays.. He also believes he can celebrate it for at least a week.. and should also be receiving gifts all week! Good Luck!
hi all. recorded my poor diet for yesterday. could be worse. i congratulate myself every day for not eating bread!
jane - sleepover for me is when i stay over night at work... i get to sleep but im there for emergencies but i am usually only woken up for nicotine emergercenies when people want to take money out of the office to buy ciggies! it is not appreceiated...
not much too say... weather is grand here this week - been in the low 20's and its brilliant! there is a buzz here when the sun is shining.
mum arrives here in the next 2 weeks... oh dear... i better find a bed for them! it will be nice tho... not least to have a baby sitter in house!
love to all... i'm having a baked potatoe tonight instead of pasta for dinner tonight. Aren't I good? well... at least it's not a take away.
oh - and sim - pumpkin stuffed mushrooms. sounds nice. were they?
karen. gosh i said that i would do the liver diet... gosh... i better get my bookback out! when do you go back to work?? how you feelin?
it seems you have an accent on the typer cookie. what did she say? anybody?
I can not stop eating icecream. My house bought two boxies of them and it is akin to having a poker machine in my hallway. i am sick and tired of having to eat them... sugar keeping me up and stopping my early to bed deep sleep. it them makes me lethargic in the morn. grrr.
I have been at an emerging writers festival today (and tomorrow) and it seems to me i no longer fit in the emerging section. The high cost masters which i have incesantly complained of in the last year must have taught me something, and i found most of it somewhat tedious - to the point where i left early and say 'miss pettigrew lives for a day' which was also tedious - but less so. It would be good to have some time and energy to finish a few pieces! It's 9 on saturday night and i would be much happier in bed with one of my many bedsides books - so to bed I must go. good luck to you all.
Hello all - don't know what you are saying SR .. cookie's words make perfect sense. Cookie - I officially returned to work on Thursday 1st May (for one day only before hospital). I am now returning to work tomorrow (Monday)!! Will try to remember what it is I do whilst I am there. Bring on the Liver Cleansing!! I feel Yuk.. and sick and gross! I tried to eat choc pudding last night with cream, got half way through and thought I was going to vomit. My body does not take well to it any longer. I am looking forward to reading the lovely (good for us) foods that we will be eating from tomorrow... without the chocolate, ice creams, pizza, etc... Stop eating oatcakes Cookie - you keep making me want to eat some (and I don't have any)!
Oh... and I am feeling OK recovery wise... still a bit sore in the tummy. It is still very sensitive and bruised and one of my money box holes is having trouble closing up and healing properly... apart from that my tummy is sealed.. .and now covered in scars..
good - am glad my crazy words make sense to someone!
karen. seems a bit rough you have to go back to work full o holes. i hope no other organs drop out of it while you are sauntering up the aisles at work!
oh gosh. liver detox tomorrow... ok ok ... i keep intentionally forgetting. funnily enough i have to go get my bloods done to check the old liver tomorrow. sure it be fine tho...
it does make you wonder if all those years of bad eating has really scuppered our poor old bodies.
Its all go on the blog. Good to see you all chatting.
Karen I hope today goes okay. Sorry to hear the chocky made you feel like vomiting. Hope your holes heal soon.
Simone, I know what you mean about the icecreams. Georgia is staying with us at the moment and she likes chocolate in the evening. I have no will power!
Justine, good to hear you are getting a visitor. You certainly have had your share over the years, you are obviously very loved.
I hope I am making sense today. Rach and Tamara had a big party at Tam's place on Saturday. I got to bed about 4am. Very very tired.
look you crazy kids.. i am not saying you dont make sense cookie, i am doing my ignorant 'what did they say' thing in response to an accent. all i meant was that you seemed to have an accent! crazy kids with falling out bits.
And i meant D for my spelling!!
so i did better today on liver cleaner - only one extra. tomorrow i will aim for no extra. took a walk/run at 9pm because i thought it might help me sleep better (and not here organge boy sneeze during the night). GO TEAM
i notice on the food board there are a few - oops, sorry (mostly from me).. i wonder if we say that before, during or after the icecream crunchie or cheeseburger travels to our bellies... or only when it is time to write it up!
I think the 'Oops' only comes when it is time to write it up... and I considered NOT writing in the cheeseburger but who would I be kidding... Tough going today - had to sit through a delicious spread of morning tea & afternoon tea (2 little parties at work) .. managed to skip everything apart from 1/4 of a egg sandwich and a calamari ring.. which was strong!! I am hoping on Monday I can see '2 fat ladies' or in other words '88'
The Bakmi Goreng that I made last night I would not recommend to others. While the flavour is OK.. it is rather bland and there are too many noodles in it... Let us know how your chicken chow mein went SR.
yes making the chicken chow now.. it doesnt look good... i have had to add extra spices to try and flavour it up. then frustrated that it look like a runny soup i mashed up the veg. not good at all. I have other recipes for chick chow mien that use the LCD incredients... will find one and put it up on recipe board as an alternative... bit disappointing given that all the recipes in the detox book were such winners. well soldier on.. we can always supplement with detox recipes.
Not sticking to this Liver Cleansing business as I should be... need to be better organised and stop having morning & afternoon teas at work. I have had a chocolate problem all week. All dinner meals are planned for next 5 days so that may help. Need to steer clear of unnecessary preservatives & snacks that are bad.. How are you going raisin girl? I love a good chocolate sultana!!!!.. although I love a good chocolate anything
lol... funny choc girl. went to the parents who talked constantly so after one night i bid them farewell and headed to the coast. not doing so well with people who want to talk. went searching for a place in queenscliff, then further along until i got to torquay. followed some signs until i found a 'peppers' on a golf course near the beach. they gave me a good deal so here i am having a happy party in my room. i have just reached my word writing target for the weekend on the gambling book. Just passed 50K. very pleased. it is lovely to be alone - albeit with a laptop and wireless connection.
dont panic about the chocs girls... (oops).. its tough to get back on to the straight and narrow.. i think a week getting into it is fair enough.
Sounds like you had a pleasant time SR - good on you! Extra good on you for hitting the writing target! ... Take 2 on the Liver Cleansing this week.... Last week not so good
I was wondering about the carrot cake craze down under as everyone seems to be eating it. I'll check out the recipe...
yeah - i didn't really get on board with the whole lcd thing last week either (obviously). again - i put this down to lack of organisation and reaching for whatever happened to be in cupboard / fridge.
sounds like you had a good time at the homestead sim. good on you for doing so much writing on your book. it would be a worthwhile achievement if you finish it... re the parents - maybe they talk more now they are country folk? i guess dad may not have local service providers to argue with (ie post office and local bakery) so that they talk more when visitors come. i relate to your need for quiet.
i often look at sarah and say pleeeease nap. pleaaaase nap! she's very noisy and yabbering these days. (and oh - she likes the choclate raisins too! a little too much)...
mum's arriving tomorrow so must push on and do some bits to get organised. must remember to get my book out to make meal plan for the week.
hey karen - i read the other day that if you don't eat carbs before exercising then your body will feast on muscle instead of fat. so i let myself have bread last night before i walked. do you think this is true? i was also looking up diet stuff for healty livers and found a lot of stuff about flaxseed oil cleasing out the fat and also coconut oil being a good fat to eat as it's processed differently. i think they recommend similar things for liver and gall bladder probs... interesting. tho sorry - do tell me how is being back at work going??
Justine you have been busy with the research and Sarah has obviously been busy playing with your scales. I hope you have a good time with your Mum.
Not a lot happening here. I spent the weekend with my youger nephew, took Ivy out on Friday (Ivy is the woman I take out for voluntary work - had I mentioned that Justine?)
Today is my first day on the work 10,000 step program, maybe peer pressure will work!
Hello all you special crumpets... Work is crazy as it always was.. may be worse. I thought motherhood may have made me more organised - NOPE!!! I see my baby for about 1hr a day during the week. Not enough, I need to change my ways. And now I have to go because I have to go to work at 5:30am to plan for a meeting I have at 7am! Will talk soon....
"Hello Zeitha"!!! Hope you have fun with your mum Cookie.. say Hi to her for me. Carbs before exercise - I believe in general the rule is true, but I would think the exercise would have to be some fast fat burning exercising... Good on you for getting out walking Cookie! I need to organise to build going to the gym in my schedule. Planning to make that happen on a couple of morning before work next week. Hope you all have lovely weekends. I will enjoy mine spending all of my time with Mackenzie!
hello all. where is miss S? she must be busy these last few days... i might ring and annoy her...
jane - no you didn't mention your voluntary work - but good on you tho!i think that, apart from the obvious "good" you are doing its enlightening to see how other people live in the community... sometimes makes our struggles seem a bit pale in comparison. hey and good luck with the ten thousand step programme. are you wearing a pedometer for this? gonna try and go for walk tonight...
i'd like to ask you all for sponsorship for doing the moonwalk on june 14th. might be a little tricky to send money though... the moonwalk is to raise money for breastcancer research. i think theres 12,000 people walking. Our team is starting at midnight and the walk goes around edinburgh for 12 miles (yikes!). we've estimated it'll take about 5 hours (goody just in time for breakfast). so if anyone would like to sponser me let me know... oh - and did i say - as part of the publicity for the event people walk in their bras!
ahh... anyway. back to diet business. been so so the last few days. have strayed from liver cleansing but not been too bad.
Karen - a mighty big adjustment to go back to walk... and it is a lot of time away from mackenzie. i'm sure you'll find a way to juggle things and make it work. how's simon doing at home being mr mom?
Yes mum arrived here a few days ago with her man, and things have been good. theyre off out at the moment so things are quiet at the minute.. but has been hectic lately so not had a chance to organise right food for dieting.
take care and good luck to your walking/stepping/eating/gym exercising lives.
What is with the vommity bugs Cookie?... Yuk. I am glad you are now feeling better and back to normal. SR told me that you were going to see Sex and the City in 2 days - Hmmm.... why do you get to see it first!!! DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT IT Please! Thanks. Need to find exercising time in amongst all of this working business.... Good luck to you all
well news... mmm... 10 days ago i got a call from Lee. I didnt know who he was, but pretty soon worked out what was behind that green door. (what was behind the green door?) Any way i went to see him monday week ago after the torquay weekend. On his end its not good. He has lost almost all use of legs and arms and he's talking about how he doesnt want to go into a nursing home. Still managing to pick up a glass though!
But we did manage a number of laughs over three hours. I left with a face that looked like I had been given a bowl of calorie free homer hudson icecream. mmmm.... Anyway one look at my happy little face whacked some reality into me as he has not changed how he feels about me...one may ask why he called? ... anyway.. it shook me a bit. i got gritty grumpy at a co-worker and lost it with my boss who made me cry when he said i just needed to keep my eye on the ball at work as this was my time to shine with my projects and upcoming promotion.
So .. mmm... interesting. poor happy face - it's back behind the green door for you.
goodness... quite an eventful time you have had miss S. what a myriad of emotions on your sweet face?
good that you've heard from him after such a time. he must have been thinking of you to get in touch... sad to hear the illness has progressed so far though. hmmm... an emotional time for you tho too, so no wonder you feelings are all over the place!
take care and just take things easy woman...
today - i had macdonalds for lunch and indian takeaway for dinner - so i ask myself why i am feeling bloated??? bad few eating days after vomitty bugs. reason was probably that i broke the toilet and had my hands down the cistern. no one else got sick just me!!! toilet now fixed after having to use a bucket to flush water down loo just like in a third world country (or greece).
oh yeah - SEX AND THE CITY!!!!!!!!
yes i have seen and no... i will give no hint of any spoiler.
i fancy iron man too - had heard it was good... i will try and catch it!
thanks a lot gals... no problem here.. i have a bag of denial not unlike the one k used to carry around. whatever happened to that? I am busying myself with soup making. i bought a vegan soup book from a local eatery and each one is a winner. today it is borcht or better spelt as beetroot soup. ate it for most meals today. yesterday mushroom. it was a winner. i also commend the apple crumble on the 'cook and the chef' website. it is the BEST i have ever had. The show is local and instead of the usually cream and butter they had a healthy show a few episodes ago. it also uses the apple concentrate we had to buy for cookies muffins. google 'cook and the chef' and you are sure for a treat. better go and keep that door shut with some taped tv. good luck all.
I have several backpacks - they are in the wardrobe! Beetroot soup sounds yuk whichever way you look at it. Up one kilo today... not happy but not suprised. That's what happens when you start eating bad white stuff, dairy, chocolate & alcohol. ... Hope you are all fit, healthy & well.
nothing wrong with beetroot... it has been departing for two days now.. gave me a bit of a suprise at first. Thought my period had come back!
Going to Geelong to meet the high school friends tomorrow night. wish i were 20 kilos lighter... got a boyfriend yet??? awwww... f off... They are having meat spit so that will be good for my chicken-vegan lifestyle.
Has anyone read any Hemmingway? I am reading a farewell to arms and quite liking it. I feel very smart just reading it - when it is actually pretty easy to read.
Long weekend coming... looks like i will be marking assignments and finishing stupid job drug competencies that take hours and hours and could be done by monty if he knew how to type. Oh and also off to see SATC... was going to go today but was instructed by boss lady not to go until she was ready.! good day to you all
Geelong?.. wow.. what is the occasion with the high school clan. I was only thinking the other day that it must have been ages since you have caught up with them - good luck with that! Bad eating yesterday - Hmmmm... need to jump back on the wagon. Suggested to 2 ladies yesterday at work that we could do our own Biggest Loser. They said they are keen and were thinking about doing in the last few weeks. All that competition should motivate me. Can't wait to see SATC on Sunday at the same time as SR. See ya!!
Okay, SATC for me on TUESDAY! (cheap night) so no commentary to me until then please. :-)Karen sorry I didn't text back re: viewing time, thought I'd do the group message instead.
I am having my hair done this weekend, I know, how do I cope with the excitement.
I sang with a mini version of my choir to a gathering at the Community Centre last night. It was stressful but cool.
Have a good weekend. Simone, I hope the gathering is more inspiring than you expect. Oh and I have read Hemmingway but not since my teens, can't even remember which story. Obvioulsy need to read some again.
The get together was due to karen and darren coming to geelong from gold coast for darrens 40th. I really dont know why i go. Im sure a group of cheerleaders would have come out of the hedge if someone had of asked me a follow up question to 'what ya been doin?' really... they either have no social skills or dont care about anyone other than their own dull little lives (and their ugly kids -now thats a low one). anyway managed to eat what was available including a crumble which was terrible - how does a crumble come out of a can? im sure it was.. but there wasnt much else to do but eat and drink.... mustnt go next time.
Hurry up standish... get to the movie so we can bitch about those friends too!
Yes... HURRY UP and go to the damn movie Dish!! We need to each write a review...
Sorry your Geelong gathering was dissapointing SR. If they only took the time to find out what was going in your world they would only be more dissapointed at their own worlds.. .very funny about cheerleaders out of the hedge... you are becoming somewhat more comical as the years go by...
i see you had a 'last supper' monday K... before your other comp kicked off. my house mate broke up with her boyfriend and she is on a jogging thing... i walk - she jogs around the oval... a little running for me.. i hope to one day be competitive again for little karen.
Wish I could get on to a jogging thing!! A jogging, no chocolate, no fat, no cheeseburger thing would be good... Yes - have started by Biggest Loser competition with all of the skinny minnies at work. It is going for 3 mths and weigh in is each Tuesday which costs $1. We pay another dollar if we put on weight. We weight in on the big industrial scales in our Receiving area at work - scales we normally use to weigh boxes!! I am quietly confident .. unfortunately I wasn't too quiet about my confidence at work in a big loud email announcing I would win!!
well i guess your confidence has peaked given your success against this competitive girl.
i may be down but i am not out. my jogging housemate and i walked for 60m today and then did sprints and laps around a local oval. well i sprinted a couple of times... weight is not moving but alas... i will persist. back to doctor in a weak. i have started having night sweats again (although could be new electri blanket) and feeling tired and dizzy and blank brain. I was about to make a BIG point in a meeting on friday and then ... nothing. was like the power went out in the middle of a storm. ding... anyway back to doctor man for some more investigation of my bowel bacteria.
yes nothing like a little healthy competition K! goodness and to be weighed at work so er... publicly. well yes that would give some extra motivational push! and sim it sounds like you have a new motivating pal at home... certainly prevents much laziness at home which is my hobby of choice!
well - apart from saturday which i did - i am pleased and proud as punch to say that i did make the 13.1 miles (21.1km) on saturday night for my charity thing! hooray for my because by god i felt like was carrying a big sack of potatoes on my back by 10 miles (compared to my slimmer pals)! yeah the last 3 miles were sheer grit as i could easily have just stopped and cried... but i did make the finish line. 4 hours 45minutes it took... by the time i got home it was 6am and i was delirious (and i think quite possible i was a little hyperthermic) as i couldn't walk (crawled up the stairs from my front door i did) and couldn't stop shivering. felt more normal monday and just a bit tired today.
been eating like a king (a tubby greedy king) the last two days cos i was so tired and just had to eat what i wanted. so as i go to bed tonight with my diet books, i wonder - is that large plate of pasta bolognaise and garlic bread so bad? will i eat those last few bits of chocolate i've nicked from kevin's father's day pressie?
answer? yes... yes and yes!
so goodnight night my little butterflies... i may have eaten badly but i have a mindset that my god i don't want to carry this extra sack o potatos around with me forever and i sure as hell wouldn't want to walk that far again at this weight! i'm going to make up a diet plan for this week... low carb vege and try and stick to it! properly like... i know - we've only been doing "the challenge" blog for 6 months... but now it really is time.!!!
oh - and no i've not weighed myself for the last few weeks... too scared i've put weight back on! i may ventrue there tonmorrow morning. certainly not now after full tummy! j xxxxxxxxxx
sorry to hear you've been sick! hope you are feeling better soon... is it your asthma? :(
food eating day today pretty good. apart from the fries I had at lunch and the snack of cheesy pasta i just had cos i've not had dinner yet. no... these items are not part of the super low-carb vege diet. i don't know how the snuck into my mouth when i wasn't looking! will be more focused tomrorrow. so much depends on preparation of meals and snacks! haven't finished writing my meal plan for week but should finish tonight. good luck ladies!
Hey J - yeah it is my lungs, asthma and chest infection. I sound like I should be starring in a Jane Austen movie as the strange Aunt laid up in bed with the consumptive!
On a bright note I think the laboured breathing is helping me lose weight.
lol... i can see you in a jane austin film miss jane.... but not as the aunt, as the lovely attractive heroin.. maybe miss eliza bennett. have you been watching them? persuasion was very strange last week.
Good on you cook and all your walking. The other day a chocolate was walking into my mouth and i hadnt realised until ksh rang. too late though... on way to belly. A big part of change is motivation.. maybe the benefit of six months of writing!
Interesting food day yesterday KSH. were you at a party?
I just finished reading Marian Keyes... chidk lit.. 700 pages.. but really quite enjoyed it. like tv in a book.
Hello lovely ladies... I remember that day SR when the chocolate walked into your mouth... that was the same day that a chocolate bar sprinted in to my mouth before I knew what was happening!! Cookie the walker... good on you Cookie cracker... Dish is right, your story was funny.. Sorry to hear you are unwell Dish... hope you are on the road to wellness now. Thank you for the CD for the peanut... I haven't listened to it yet but she loves songs so I am sure she will love them.. Thank YOU SR for the soup book! May have a chance this weekend to give one or two a go... very nice of you. Busy week for me.. went to Sydney for a meeting... dinner & bowling night before the meeting... not happy that I could not be the winner at bowling.. only scored 88 so approximately 10 people out of 19 beat me! Biggest Loser still going on at work.. I did lose 0.8 for the 1st week which was OK, given I ate a great big whopper!! The biggest loser for the week lost 2.7kgs. 3 others lost about 1.6.. they will be a tough crowd... I better get to that gym and start pretending I have gall stones again!! Dish - assuming that you went to see Sex and the City, what did you think of it?
aww poor miss jane. i shall ring thee soon. thanks very much for the cherishing well wishes from cookster and karen margaret. Miss jane, Simone saw Lee last week (who is much worse) and thanks to KM came out of denial and held a meltdown on saturday. (but kept it to herself as you do). ok better stop using third person. I...that is I am having a difficult time coming to terms with the end of a life. ... Now third person about lee! i mean the end of lee's life. Really... i am going to shove all this in my back back and go hiking.
Went to doctor today. bill of $570 with consultation and meds. The first step is a colon cleanse. i am not sure if i can go to work with such busyness down under, or down behind... shall see. xx
It is amazing how good a 1hr walk can make you feel when you haven't been doing any walking at all!! Need to get to the gym next week.. will do some walking today around some shops... Hope all of you precious rabbits are very well. Dish - The Peanut has been wearing her Peanut t-shirt. It fits her perfectly at the moment and gets lots of comments!
hey chickies. monty boy is booked in for permanent sleep tomorrow. he is not so well after his $670 weekend visit. so i rang saying that it was time. apparently it is $370 for cremation.... really..
Oh... the little orange boy. I guess he won't be getting a job to pay all that money back to you then! In all seriousness, must be very sad for you SR... no doubt for the best so the furry fellow doesn't have to suffer....
Not much happening here...still. Still struggling with my chest infection. A little better every day though. Karen nice to hear "peanut" is wearing her peanut top!
Justine...how goes it?
Bring on Fiji! I have no money but me and my credit card will have fun anyway. I might not have my own family but I have access to 22% credit! Ah life is good! :-)
it is very sad about monty isn't it. but i think he had a very lovely life with you simone, and some formative years with you jane (and a short time being snubbed by your karen in brunswick!). he was a good and dependable pet and loved simone very much... let me know what you are going to do with his ashes.
i received a lovely postcard today from you miss jane! how very thoughtful... and how very nice sydney looks! very sweet and thoughtful of you! good to hear the chest infection is healing. sounds like you've had it pretty nasty. and my god fiji sounds like heaven to me... just heaven! when do you go... i'm sure you've said but can't remember. and what a wonderful thing it is to have a credit card with such high interest . those banks (ie shareholders) are really nice people really aren't they. the way they feast on our meagre existances and gobble up our money!
much the way i gobbled up that nice bagette at lunchtime. and heres a funny thing - i've noticed before but maybe i should take more notice of - the sides of my mouth go red and itchy sometimes if i eat a flouery bread roll. you know what i mean... those rolls with flour all over them (do they have them in aust?). guess that means i'm alergic and not suprised my insides puff up like a teletubbie when i eat bread.
karen - just re-reading you're biggest loser thing at work. boy the person who lost 2.7 kg in a week is sure something aren't they? you got some competition baby... hope you sqeeze some time to get back into that gym. for me i think all my talk on joining was really no going to happen... cost too much and think i'll just try and keep up with the walking.
stay well everybody - jane - hope your lungs are feeling better. sim - dont take your eyes "off the ball" (and i'll say a wee heathen prayer to the gods tonight for the lovely monty) and karen - give the peanut a kiss on the head for me.
Hello chickens.. I seem to now be the only one who is listing my food stuffs. I see that SR has not listed anything since last Monday... you must be hungry by now SR... going all of those days without eating!
Hope everybody is well... SR - hope you have found yourself some lovely monty boy pictures to treasure & cherish (these words are brought to you by TTFM love songs & dedications)...........
yes i am STARVING..not likely. posting food was just too much this week. last week i managed to break my new work laptop and old laptop internet connections - so no blogging. The kindly IT guy fixed it today.. so will make big effort to record food tomorrow.
thanks for your kind words on my dearest, loyal and odd friend. The vet sent a kindly card today that nearly made me cry.. thanks a lot! I think they are after my future business... no they were very kind about their regular customer. I put a pic of monty (one where the extent of his attitude is showing) on the fridge. He is keeping an eye on things and i pat him as i reach for chocolate. I missed him a lot last night. Housemate away and no cat to talk to. Had to go to bed at 7pm and pretend the boy was in the other room. Reminded myself that loss takes time. Today I am a bit better. Word has also spread at work and i heard many pet stories today and got to tell some of montys escapades.
All other senior people were away at work today so i worked on my gambling book. Passed 62K with great cheer and fell up the steps onto my face in delirious celebration. i am desperately hoping to get to 80K soon so that i can start to rewrite. Today i added a section on my housemate Catherine who i lived with at southbank. She was a 'trail blazer' who everyone knew, with bleach blonde hair and a reputaton for directness. lol... maybe you should write your own profile jane.
Anyway.. thanks for the kind thoughts and RIP monty boy.
back on the diet list people.. big effort.. to write it down. it is sooo cold. dad and kate away from thurs (cooks bday) - sun. hoping to get to the magic 80k and finish the first draft. have arranged for two days off work and am hoping also to engage in the magical world of exercise. That weekend is 7 years since i stopped gambling. would be nice kismet to finish manuscript on the seventh year!
7 years!!! WOW - well done to you champo.... Hope you get busy writing and finish it.. Can't wait to read it. Cookie is having a birthday... of course the 17th July when she will be turning...ummm.... 36 What are you planning to do for your birthday Cookie monster... ?? Dish - how are you doing? Are you feeling much better now? How is working life?
Back at work and still playing catch up with work and life. Doesn't pay to be sick! And I have had some dramas with my holiday. Both of my friends I was meant to travel with have pulled out!! So, I have to go by myself. Not happy. Oh well, nothing I can do about it really.
Hello 'me heartys'.. watching too much Wiggles captain feathersword!!
Nearly Cookie's birthday... a 3 & a 6.. OOOOhhh! Hello to you Dish - work/life balance not so balanced currently but will continue to work on that (at work).. ha ha
Miss all of you little cherry pies... hope you are happy & healthy!
not much to report really... just been busy somehow. have logged on a few times and seen there's not much chatting going on. maybe jane's away checking out the local fijians... maybe karen's away working 23 1/2 hours a day... and maybe my lovely sister is still missing our beloved monty boy (xx).
Anyway - yes - my 36th birthday came and went. Quite enjoyable... kev and i went for a comedy show where they do stand up, and then for a cocktail. the stand-ups were cool - very funny. only one really dodgy one, and 4 good ones.
when you think about it, isn't it strange to pay for someone to make you laugh? it's like - here's £7. NOW MAKE ME LAUGH!
anyway, i digress. not much to say on the diet front as i've not weighed for a couple of weeks. though, apart from a few blips here and there, i'm generally avoiding the bread etc. so feeling ok.
jane - thanks for the birthday card baby. did you make it yourself? what a talented girl.
simone and karen - well - I will be expecting to see your cards any day now... maybe they got lost in the same place that all those birthday cards i sent to you have gone?
am off to bed now... kev and sarah are racked with flu. somehow i've avoided it so far. i think cos i've been taking multivitamin and extra vitamin c everyday for last few months. i really think that's made a difference. remember a while ago i was constantly constantly flued up?
so take care ladies in the cold land of australia. love to all. xx
ok.. i am back and vow to write all the inappropriate entries that pass into my mouth. seeing it makes me not deny.
ad for x-files - the only saving grave would be if the script was out of this world. HA
k says to write food in morning while eating breakfast. i need a routine. Monday was 7 years since stopping gambling. was telling cook about the next 7 year health plan and she suggested i have a goal of quitting smoking by 2015. mmm that sounds achievable. maybe i will keep eating what i like and start cutting carbs and sugar in 2014. delirious... must get back to ncis.
As I said to Cookie the other night - I don't understand the appeal of 'This Life'... although I say that and I keep watching it! I loved 'cold feet' but this show is like watching a UK Big Brother! Nothing much goes on... they go to work, they come home, cook tea and have a few drinks and occassionally they have a party.. it's like living in Stewart St brunswick without eating pizza every night and taking sickies! Anyway.. I will continue watching and I am up to Disc 5 which is quite a few episodes in!.. Anna is annoying... Miles bugs the hell out of me.. and what sort of name is Egg!!
lol... you really dont like it much do you! interesting food day for you yesterday K. I told EVERYBODY that i was going to the gym on monday and alas i went to bed and ate 1/2 a box of crackers. managed a walk yesterday... maybe better to start with smaller goals!
the flowers that the vet sent for monty have not died and yet there is another death. My god must be playing scrabble or gin or such distracting games!
heard people were going to the laundry as an unarranged wake for lee. was shit scared of going back there after a year and a half. many were crying and hugging and they welcomed me saying they were glad i had come. others too didnt get to say goodbye and there was lots of talk about the lack of service. angry words about the family shutting everyone out. felt much better in being part of the group and many numbers were exchanged.
Rodericks sister jane - the one with a phd in literary criticism who was my biggest critic of the lee book - apologised profusely for being mean to me. She had been looking after lee and currently has no job. i said i was seeking an editor and we seemed to have made an arrangement. well at least she knows my work. it seems that there is some sort of good outcome. i felt so relieved after last night i left my house this morning and had breakfast out and worked on a chapter. i havent had breakfast out for about a year. i mean that would involve leaving the house... but hooray.. i did it. kelly said that lee had said how happy he was to see me again in the last couple of months. That was good of her. made me feel better.
what an eventful week miss s. it sounds good that you got a chance to share and connect with lee's other friends. i'm glad it went well for you... interesting that others have opinions about family and choices made about the arrangements. but i guess it's hard from all sides isn't it.
good you've picked up an editor too... she's not there to be a critic tho is she? just to edit. make sure you tell her to get back to yo job beeatch(!) if she pipes in with any unwelcome criticism.
glad you are sounding well... and making plans. don't worry plans for the gym etc will come to fruition if you want them to. it's good you're planning and having being so positive. besides - wait a wee while until your stupid god is back from his leave of absence.
on a note of dieting have i told you of my favorite thing of the minute: hot chocolate made from cocoa, sweetner and soymilk. its pretty good. fills you up. in the words of simone rodda "i like it. i like it a lot." quite nice and creamy with the soy...
have started posting my food again too... i was unable to post last week because i had a day of domestic domesticity and baked a batch of bannana muffins for sarah. lets just say i don't think it is a good thing for me to do home baking as i was in a rotten mood, and then they magically disappeared. i'll never tell how many i baked. or ate.
anyway... where is the dish girl. is she on her hols? hope she no sick again.
Mrs hill it was a pleasure to talk to you last week... don't leave it so long next time. Was going to say too - did anyone ever suggest leaving extra dummies in the cot for the peanut to find herself. I leave so many in sarahs cot that she can hardly turn her head at night... but it means she can sort herself out and go back to sleep.
anyway... i'm hungry. i think i'll go eat... its 10.42pm. i'm not long back from work. i should sleep but can't. might have a soychocochino instead. j xx
yeah count your chickens too fast dishy.. remember i have loved this bloke for six and a half years... working only short days because they send me home due to getting tired and teary.
but yes.. as stated.. i have spent a year licking my lack of love wounds and it is nice to even talk of plans of leaving my lovely dvd collection.
12 banana muffins to a tray. expected time of eating... mmm 24 hours.. sarah barah... maybe two?
Banana muffins, returning from holidays, celebrating a Lee life, dummies in cots.. it is all happening (I think)!
If I had access to this blog thing at work could write a longer entry but alas, this is a 'no go' zone much like for SR... Hope you had a lovely time on your trip Dishy... we missed you!! Cookie - dont' really have a dummy waking up problem with the peanut.. she loses it but only wakes up to cry for it about once every fortnight... funny that you scatter them around the cot for Sarah... good strategy. Trying to get back on track with the eating business.. good start yesterday which included a game of netball.... sooo unfit... I kept bashing into the poor little girls that we were playing against.. kept apologising telling them that I was losing my balance... went into too much information about being older and unstable on my feet, unfit.. .and blah blah blah... I am sure my friendly opponent couldn't wait for the game to end so she wouldn't have to hear me anymore!!! Hope you all have a lovely day - what gorgeous, special women you all are.... I Cherish all of you!! (this line is bought to you by TTFM.. love songs & dedications)
Second back at work. Sigh. Hate this working for a living. I few frugal months coming up trying to pay for my holiday. blah blah blah. Had to wash this ice of the car this morning then traffic was so bad I had to catch the train - great fun with a twisted ankle.
Can you tell I am a happy camper today? LOL
Karen, you are a good story teller. You had me giggling and feeling sad with your fitness story.
My argument with a Kayak (spelling?) left me feeling like an old unco woman that is for sure!
tried to purchase a cat at lunch time today. well two actually - one as a back up as advised to the staff at the lord smith. (relative of yours?) there was a friendly stray but she was a bit of a scardy cat. after i advised them of my cat and person loss and need for replacement love i told them that my cat was more like a dog and could they point me in the direction of the dog area. at the dog room i stated that i would like to puruse their animals. i then said that they smelt a lot and that it turned out i didnt want a dog at all.
that was the short version... it actually went on for an hour. i was acting quite mad.
must lie down now. love to you muffin muncher, TTFM and especially you selma kayak
work sent me flowers today - well my boss anyway. it wasnt such a surprise as the admin girl was hanging around yesterday asking what time i thought i might be home. eventually - without any prodding - she whispered.. it's just that we are sending you flowers. last week i read a book she loaned me and she told me about the final twist when i was 50 pages from the end. really.. she couldnt keep a secret if it were zipped in her pocket.
been working on that line.. salma kayak is a winner though
Thanks for the postcard Kayak girl... sorry to hear that you had a fight with a Kayak... I can't imagine how that happened but amuse myself thinking up scenarios... in all seriousness Dishgirl I hope you didn't cop too much of a walloping from the long boat!! Must go to work, work, work.... the good news is Chalky, peanut and I are going away for weekend to Noosa!! Have to go to see a man about some tiles and see a lady about some frames so thought we would hang around for the weekend and shiver by the beach!!
Ah flowers that is so sweet and thoughtful, it would have been a nice surprise if that woman had kept her zipper shut!
I have lasted until thursday but it has been a REAL struggle.
Karen I could tell you how I ended up battling with a Kayak but I don't think it would be as amusing as the scenarios in your imagination so I won't. :-)
I'm off to see the folks this weekend. Then back home to take Ivy out. Yes I am living the dream. LOL
well hit the wall last thursday. started 'work from home' and then had to go to bed which i stayed until this morning. there were various intervals of leaving my bed (dinner with trev and zoe, wine with my editor, video shop). bed is so nice and safe and comfortable. work suggested i take the week off to grieve. i suggested that if i did this i may call in sick from my bed for the rest of my life. they suggested i come to work! grief apparently has stages and my first 8 days were denial and shock. now i seem to have skipped anger and bargaining and gotten onto the sadness horse. i agreed with some of the supervisors not to go straight to bed when i got home. not until 7pm and i wasnt allowed to eat dinner in bed. so i arrived home, painted a picture, wrote this blog while i ate dinner and will have a shower and voila... 7pm it is almost.. very hard work this business.
thanks miss j. got home at 5pm today and have had 2 hours before being able to go to bed... it's such a lonnnng time. so far bath, talk to housemate, work out tax, drink protein shake.... 24 minutes left to go. it is so tiring. but i think helpful as it was a better day at work today. still 24 minutes to go. waiting... waiting.. ah 23 minutes
SR - glad you had a better day at work.. Understandably you are struggling with the concept that Lee is gone... don't be tough on yourself... know that it will get easier as the days pass... Just start the day by getting up and breathing.. (remember the movie quote)... will ring you later today champo!
Dishgirl - hope you have recovered from your Kayak whack... hope work isn't too yuk after your holiday...
sorry to hear about the sleeping difficulty Simone but I guess this is all part of the tough process of grieving. It is just darn hard! Still you are tough too.
If I don't see you Friday I hope you can have a good catch up with Jane and share some pain/memories etc.
And I'll catch up with you soon.
Karen - leg still smarting (funny word use) from that silly attacking kayak! How long does it take to recover from attacking kayaks!!?? And yes struggling with being back here. And yes I know you know how that feels!
What's happening in your world? How is the Biggest Loser going?
the air is silent.... weight going up up up.... had to buy some new clothes today because i had thrown the others away. not good. weight loss blog needs to have a look at itself!
yes the air is very quite on the "challenge blog" these days. my excuse for the last month is that sarah moved back into her room with the computer. hence having very little access.
however, some kind family have taken our stinking guinea pigs so woopee! we now have a little walk in cupboard space for the computer!
not much to say - hope all every one is well. Jane - thanks for your postcard from fiji... oh it looks like paradise! Sim - i've a feeling you may/might be travelling about in tassie. I tried ringing today but no answer...i guess you might have been in bed. karen - hope you and your not so little baby peanut are well.
there's been crazy talk in this house about putting the house up for sale and moving to australia. kevin's pissed off that he's missed out on a job at work - he was promised the job from his manager but it has turned out he didn't get it. so he's thinking he just wants to get out now.... stay tuned to see if the moving thing happens sooner rather than later! not a good time to sell a house though... property prices are plumeting here.
anyway - the diet business - well i've not put any on. have been trying hard to steer clear of bread which i've been ok at. thought that may have aided weight loss but might need more of an exercise kick! and maybe strip away some more carbohydrates from my diet! evil, evil things!
Hello precious little rabbits... have been blog absent for a couple of weeks. Best that I didn't note the crap that I was eating... I weighed myself this morning and the news wasn't good, which is no suprise to me.. .I will officially weigh myself and note it next Monday morning... always a Monday!!
Spent some lovely days with SR late last week... apart from lack of sleep and snacking on bad foods it was lovely...
COOOOOOKIE - Are you coming home?? Is it official? I heard a peep from SR who heard a peep from KR & DR... let me know.
Dish - hope you are well... how are things going with you? How is work at the moment?
Sultana Bran is quite a delicious cereal... just ate some... it really does have a lovely crunchy, branny texture... Hmmmm
yes to reiterate ks blog we are back on the wagon. goal is no more than 3? pieces of bread a day (based on the fact that we both ate 3 monday), juice 3 times a week and 3 x 30 min exercise. try that for one week (or maybe two) and reasses. did you know this blogger was made in nov last year.. interesting. thanks dish for the cd. post is nice. cook says she will come when their house is sold.. fingers crossed. k and I have the same writing voice - i discovered when she was helping me last week with a chapter. i submitted chapters and synopsis from my gambling book to an allen and unwin comp monday. find out in december whether i am a winner for the publishing prize. As i submitted there they have the rights so i have a breather for three months... enough time for exercise. ahh
ha Georgie.. stood in front of snack machine at 2.30 - even though my photo is displayed banning myself - and ummed and ahhed and then said announced i think i really want veg juice. they all thought it very funny and others went up and asked for beetroot and celery and then snickers. still sickers from visiting k and her child who like little sarah seems to carry germs even though i didnt get to close but i suppose its all around. i was grumpy after 5 days of not enough sleep and told little macas i didnt much care for her. sorry macas. may as well been hungry.. this cold means nicotine wdl and more grumpiness. ohhh. just saw ad.. phone broke two days ago and i am getting an apple i phone because its only $7 more a month. it was insured for loss and theft but not if it ceased to work. after an hour of explaining the madness of the mobile business to a bloke in india i gave it away and went to northland. advised girl i usually yell in optus. she was scared and told me they had no phones which may have been true as they are closing on sunday. come on juicers!
hi - good to see that the girls are back on the blog. even if they are sick, tired, hungry and full of the cold...
yes - the cookie is returning to the land of drought, sun and baker's delight (never ever let me go into one of those evil white bakery's when i return).
when? that is the hard question... property prices are downward sliding fast and a lot of the big banks are only lending mortgage money to people with a 20% deposit - hence no houses selling. there's talk of a recession here by the end of the year but - fingers crossed - we can sell without leaving ourselves in too much of a hole. the mostly likely scenario is we will be over sometime next year i think... just wait till things pick up. Kevin is all ready to go right now, but i think he's not quite taking in the market is basically a big pile of cow dung at the mo.
anyway... poor sick simmy... and little maca kept you up! get your hands on some ear plugs next time you visit. i always have some on hand for difficult whinging moments! allows me to keep cool!
i bet little mackenzie enjoyed having her auntie simmmy around anyway... even if she was tired.
yes - i will post weight on monday as well. oh crap that's only two days away.
ANYWAY.... I VOW TO LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE GOING HOME TO AUSTRALIA!!
so... maybe the "challenge" is about to heat up? cos i bet you girls would be sick if i came home all slinky... (gosh - this is big talk - i'll really have to put my dieting determination where my mouth is). yes - I may be sorry for baiting you lovely aussie girls!
ok. will post my food for today. and will - perhaps unwisly - go eat that icecream sandwich that is in the freezer.
lol.. you are funny writer. i went to the first final of footy on sunday and ate nuts and soy instead of chips and cows. very pleased with myself. went with guy from work and his mates. think i really prefer going by myself - too much presure to interact when i like to listen to the radio like an old lady with a blanky.double dipping today with work and lecture which is on stereotypes. wish id never said i would lecture this semester.. too hard on top of the underpaid demanding job.. where IS KS and where is JS??
Justine - you are coming to the land of drought! How exciting.
And yes lets use you as a motivator for weight loss. Nothing has worked for me. Not health scares, love, depression, loneliness, joy, nothing!
Simone - sounds like you had an interesting time up north. And having a busy time as usual now you are back. And going to the footy with other people! I like the image of you with your blanket and trannie though.
Karen - how goes it with you!
As for me - just had a couple of days off and went to Mount Martha as my folks are in Noosa so I used their house for a bit of me time. Nice. I pottered around, organised my photos, watched season 2 of Doctor Who, Season 3 of Vicar of Dibley. Sorry Simone I forgot to take West Wing. Now I am back to work to pay the bank. Stupid lifestyle.
love? standish? what love? you keeping a secret lov-er? or is it that bloke you snogged... joy? what joy did you get? i remember joy. i also remember not being so consumed with eating. really i made a home made bacon and cheese muffin for breakfast while i was thinking of good choices for the day. then i sped from work to bundoora to do a lecture and was there early and tired and stressed and ate more ordinary food that made me feel more tired and stressed.
in the words of the great poet JS 'stupid lifestyle'
COOOOooookies is coming home!!! OOOH, how exciting... and all slinky too... wish I looked all slinky... not waddly and dumpy!!
Went to Sydney on Monday for a Tues meeting... love the traffic!!.. from airport to hotel - 1 hr 15min... lovely! Love those little navigation guys... just like a 'Melways' that talks to me... good invention.
Ate room service.. not so good food... Took a crown lager from the mini bar, opened it (wondering why it did not screw off) and took a sip of some yukky water!!!.. spat in the sink and realised that some clever little rabbit had gotten away with a stubbie full of beer and covered their tracks.. don't think the hotel people appreciated that I rang and said they had been scammed while laughing out loud!!...Well must return to the workplace now and continue on with my week. David, Mel & 3 boys arriving this Sunday for 2 wks.. mother-in-law has been here for 2 wks and leaving Friday... THEN Simon's brother & 3 nieces arriving early Oct for 10 days... WOW.. that's a lot of visitors... Macca is sorry that she gave Aunty Simmy a cold and told me to tell you, 'You're funny'!! Mackenzie kept laughing at Sim when she was here.. Nice to hear from all you ladies... Ahhh when Cookie we returns the group will be back... (although not in the same state)
went to atomica yesterday and saw dark choc warm muffin on counter and bought with coffee for morning tea or lunch but ate it in the four minute drive to work. problem. new apple iphone has calorie counter. now entering as i eat. need to save myself!
Wish you could buy a program that doesn't allow your mouth to open if the food you are going to put in it is over 50 calories per bite... How rude is it when somebody gets in your way on the road and they then yell out and call that person a 'fat f***'.... poor chalky - that is what some toothless lady (jack-o-lantern) called him 2 days ago... he couldn't believe it.. and he was under pressure to counter attack so came up with and yelled at 'do you kiss your kids with that mouth'... what is THAT about... funny...
rude people.. the counter is going well. i eat a lot that i forget. it takes a while to write everything down and is good motivation not to eat so much! with all your visitors k you must be eating out at some point.. what about some receitps?? miss jane has recently provided a nice one. i got a receipt for my breakfast that was veg for $15. my nice place has closed so i went to the over priced craporolla place in northcote. can you believe that they couldnt even provide a piece of toast for that price. excessive - but good for people allledgedly cutting down on bread. i have the week working from home so expect to see exercise each day! lets hope expectations meet actions!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 433 Newer› Newest»i said no twice to free chocolate today at work... hooray... hooray... but what the hell are you supposed to eat after dinner....
Hi everyone!
Happy happy joy joy. Retirement date fading as the cost of living goes up. Think I'll stop eating, that might help.
I went to see Cyndi Lauper perform last night. She was fantastic! She played all the old songs. Including "I drove all night". goosebumps.
I hope everyone is enjoying their week.
Take care
J

crikey... i feel we are back in the 80s and cookie is wearing pearls again. cyndi lauper??? third day today on the vege juice. i am slowly getting used to it and it is causing acne which is an indicator that it is doing something! no chocolate or direct sugar so far this week. Funnily enough i am feeling a bit less tired.
hi ladies... i'm alive... just been struck with diahorea(?) last week which lasted 4 days. been a bit shattered the last few days now... the good news is, as any annorexic/bulimic would know that diorhea (i wish i could spell the word) is good for weight loss). though think i've already put on a kg from what i was on monday.
hope you are all well - karen - hope you enjoyed your wee break and mackenzie is feeling better (god i love a breakfast buffet)!, jane... you seem to be going awful good on the exercise front - well done you - very inspirational! sim - tried ringing you back over the weekend (sunday i think it was) but couldn't get you - home line engaged. will try later if i'm still up at reasonable time tonight. j xxx
Hi everyone!
Justine - you have had a rough trot lately! Yes, pun intended. Glad you are feeling better.
Simone - so many tests poor thing. Glad you are starting to feel better with the changes you have made.
Karen - so much gym work. I am very impressed. Oh and have fun doing the detox.
I am about to start my retox!!!
xxxxx
Oh and Cyndi Lauper was so very cool. She had such amazing energy. She sang, danced, ran and climbed on speakers! And she is 54!!! Made me feel like a big fat unfit slob but apart from that the night was fun! LOL.
glad to see young cookie back. Congrats to Jane in getting through an AF month! amazing!
Hello!!
I had my first jury duty service yesterday. It was interesting and a little scary. I luckily missed being called for a yucky case.
Oh and FebFast is over. I am only one kilo behind my weekly goals. It will be interesting to see if I can keep that going.
Simone - well done for saying not to free chocolate again.
Karen - I hope all the entertaining has helped keep you on track despite not getting to the gym.
Justine - hope you are healthy!
xxxx
hello little chickens.
yeah - my health has been crap lately! after my case of the "runs" i then got a bit of the flu back that i had before... not as bad as last time but my ears all blocked again and coughing and achey... i've obviously got some terrible immune difficiency disorder!
food eating has been pretty bad this week as it includes many variations of bread instead of any veg. ie - the sandwich. toast. the toasted sandwich. the grilled cheese. and a bread roll or two.
v. bad.
yes sim i'll have a wee look at the liver diet book again - i know it promotes cutting the carbs and dairy. i take it that that is what your doc is recommending?
love to jane and karen...
nice to see you eating stovies for dinner - kevin would love me to make such scottish treats for him!
jury duty sounds scary jane... though i kind of thing i would like to be picked for the scary messy cases. or maybe that's just in my imagination!
poor cookie. eating veg instead of toast dinners might help. the doc said my illness is probably some nasty bug in my belly or bowel, so he gave me some fibre stuff until results are in (another two weeks).
90 minutes today just to get to work and then grocery shopping. going to geelong to look at a car tomorrow afternoon. planning to eat minestrone soup for dinner with salad. while it wont be sandras it will be closer than a burger. good luck team.
did you know miss jane is on tour later next month? major event around australia.. they say its a sell out!
poor cookie.. please write to us again.
Caffeine is very bad... when stop drinking it, head hurts a lot!!!
Ouch!!!
hello lovely girls,
yes k - caffine is bad bad bad! its a bit annoying that I gave up for quite a while but have slipped back into it. not much - i probably only have 1 or 2 cups per day of coffee, tho usually tea. and you get the worst achey headache trying to give up!
i'm swithering as to what to have for breadkfast today - we've got some nice thick white bread - gee i'd love a fried egg sandwich... but maybe i'll have porridge instead :(
not much to say here - i've not weighed myself all week either - not eaten loads but i've certainly eaten a lot of crap and takeaways.
feeling much better tho ears are still a bit blocked. not much to say on the exercise front either - need to kick start something though as i'm due to do the moonwalk thing for charity in june ( its a half marathon - though it's walking). yes - really must start doing some training!
any way - am very impressed with the diet entries over the last few days... hope everyone is starting to feel better over the other side of the world and that you are feeling warmer sim... and that karen is not feeling so sick in tummy... and jane - well i don't hear that you are sick but i hope you've had a nice weekend!
love and kisses jx
sim - what is a tofu calzone?
Good Morning!
Chat soon.
xxx
come on jane - i think you meant your nephew was 8... not 18!
i reckon those stones will weigh a bit... i mean they are stones!
day 4 on detox today and as k said it is a bit tiring... already tired and now more tired. but interestingly it is a different sort of tired than the fatigue tired. more a body slowing down to do some business. anyway.. maybe that will pass by tomorrow or the next day.
Cheers!
Jane

EEeeeeek.....
nice eating over the last two days again k. that is the eating of a champ! a healthy, veg filled champ! just like myself and the champ that i am too. the gluten free business is very good. i was in the 'silly yaks' shop the other day (pun on cileacs) and they had all these delicious looking cakes that were sugar packed. it seems you can get gf but not without sugar!
(don't mean to call you a dork, but it is the only thing that rhymed with walk)
YOU are a champ Sim - your calories are getting lower and lower.. and you keep moving everyday.
Only 3 more months until the Sex and the City movie!
currently eating detox soup for breaky, yum yum... it is actualy quite satisfying. picked up my car yesterday after some money juggling. it is a very nice car and quite speedy. mitsubishi 2002lancer, 2 door coupe, silver, 1.8. thank the good lord otherwise it would have been the spectrum of public transport to get to the doctors today. all ye prey for a diagnosis!
hello my (not so) chubby chickens!
wow - k and s im impressed at your diet over the last while. so very very healthy and with so little "bad" stuff!
have had a few busy days... and went out one night last week (for a fashion preview and free champagne oohlala!), which made my head sore and body tireed for days on end. had a good night tho - got chatted up by some young 20 something and asked for my number. well - ok - it was a chick rather than a guy but still complimentary!
diet has been so - so the last week. still doing porridge for breakie - sometimes soup/salad for lunch - but if too tired to do dinner succumb to toast with cheese/eggs or something similar for dinner. promise to pull out my food diary and get back on track.
sim - can't believe you broke dads car! lol.. oh dear. new car sounds cool tho. janey - shame about that silly kg that found you again! i'm sure my losess will catch up with me this week! karen - hope your doc appt goes well tomrrow.
love to you all - need to go... so cold here our stupid boiler has broken and we need replaced (bet that will cost more than a new car!). sim - were you thinking about our boiler the other day and made it break?? jx
ha ha funny cookie. did i mention my new car has an aerial? for the last ten years i have been getting around with a coat hanger.
so i have a bad bacteria living in my bowel. bad bacteria. have to take antibiotics for one week then probiotics then back to antibiotics then pro.. anyway a 6 week cycle to kill it off. hopefully that does the trick and i find some energy!
Suggestion from Dr is continue not to eat fatty foods and stay clear of dairy.. .I guess I will have to find new ways to jazz up vegetables & fruit!
gosh... bad bacateria and bad gall bladders. we have very bad bodies!
sim - hope the antibac sort out your tummy bugs... what was the not so nice tests karen speaks of??
kar - well - looks like you will be a healthy eater for life now! gosh... must be quite a scare for you, but from what i've read the surgery is relatively routine. a bugger about the timing going back to work - never quite smooth sailing! you'll have a very busy time in may im sure!
not much to say from here - boiler being fitted next friday so another week of chilliness. its costing about half my yearly wages... yay! i'm sure boilers are more expensive in colder climates... a captive market - its not like you can live without one!
not much else to say - going for some work drinks tonight so i'll say sorry to my liver now...
jxx
i went to see some sort of asian fella today in a centre that practices Ki. who the hell knows what this is - but the blurb is that it helps shift energy for those who are fatigued. i figure that's me... it was pretty normal (extreme pushing of pressure points) except for the crazy gushing noises he kept making. whooooosssshhh... whoooooshhhh. i think he spat on me. anyway i do feel marginally less tired - which may be the antibiotics!...
hello cookie... whhhoooooshhh.. k and j...xx
Hi everyone!
J - sorry to hear you are still cold and about to be broke too! Harsh.
S - lots of interesting stuff happening with you. I admire your tenacity.
K - poor rocky K. Hope you can still enjoy a birthday drink!
As for me - still haven't managed to get back on the weight loss train. I think I was asleep when it went past this week.
whoooshhhhh....
Good Morning everyone,
I forgot to weigh in today. Probably a good thing. I have been very slack.
J - glad to hear you are toasty again.
K - nice that you enjoyed the night out with the mother's group.
S - sounds like you are doing a good job with your regime!
I'm off to Perth tomorrow, then Adelaide the following day. Oh and guess where I go next week....Brisbane!!! LOL.
man you have cut 40% of your points ... that's why it is dropping like flies!!! man...
Interesting....
like having some sort of band in your tummy but for less cost! me want stones too!! no no universe not really. back on anti-biotics yesterday just one day after the fatigue and foggy brain came back - day 6 after finishing the first course of anti-biotics.. interesting. i cant get over how little food ks is eating.... i think i might replicate her eating... what she posts on a tuesday will be my meals on a wednesday. lol... interesting. hey disho.. i am thinking of moving out of the 30s and 80s ... would you copy one of your compli... comple... (brain blank..what is the word?) a cd with lots of songs you hip young things like..?
going to a comedy writing workshop this weekend with rachel burger (mmmm burger)... two days of learning to write funny.
Let's all follow Karen Rocks Diet!
Believe me, you do not want any rocks in your gut!!
err.. hello - what happened?
i log on for a quick look and all of a sudden miss smuff is down to 91kg!
well done to you lady! gosh... you've really lost some propper weight the last few weeks! obviously you've got some serious health reasons why - if it were me i would probably feel depressed and bury my nose in a packet of tim tams. so well done you! i feel more motivated myself seeing how good you have done... rice crackers used to be a snack - but you show, actually they can be a meal!
k - do you know when you are going into surgery yet!
big hello to j and s... hope you are well janey and hope those antibiotics are kicking the bad bugs out of you sim!
me - my diets been pretty crap. need new batteries for scales which i will get today - but not weighed for a few weeks - scared to check but i will do tonight. sometimes you just know when you've put weight back on... feel more puffy!
oh my gord... look at your weight losssssssssssssssssssssssssss
As he is not sexually active, he apparently picked it up a while back probably during a fight. the upshot is that if he gets sick or scratched he has to go straight in for treatment. crikey. at least the talk of a $900 MRI has ceased for his sneezing - they wont do that with a cat who has aids.
has karen passed you cookie???
karen passed me like a flash... it was like running the 100m against rebecca bate all over again! (ie. for jane - fastest girl in school!).
poor monty... with kitty cat aids. sim he is very lucky to have such a good person as yourself to look after him. others would have given up long ago (well. in fact they did!).
(must record food diary must record food diary as no recollection of what i ate yesterday). love to all xx
yes cookie... the food diary.. it is better to do it even if eating is not good because the words are reflected like a giant billboard. trev and zoe rang yesterday to go to japanese last night. said they would come here so we would walk the 5ks to and from the restaurant. they said they felt they should support me more in my comp with the qld girl. i advised them of rocks and they sighed and said that was bad luck.. lol..
Hi everyone,
Poor Monty. Very sad.
Oh and I now weigh more than people on the biggest loser. Gee that makes me happy.
NOT!
LOL
monty must stop sharing needles!
hahaha jane... i too watch the fatties coming down down down and then bam they have passed me...
most displeasing.
well hello mr 89... good on you stone girl
Good on you SR on your loss for the week..
lol.. yes you do prefer the 80s. me to for that matter. i hate the 90s.
hi ladies... yes well done to ms 80 something. that's very impressive.
it should give us some motivation to catch the wee skinny wench!
now... questions....
where is my food diary?
why did i buy hot cross buns to eat for breakfast?
and why did i have goey indian take away for dinner last night?
hope you are all well. big happy birthday to the lighter girl in our world.
Not good! Too many. I guess it could have been much worse (especially if we had not done the exercise)
Oh well... back to babies and business...
Thanks again to the Dish & SR for a wonderful time in the land of rain!
you couldnt be pleased... weight up.. probably alcohol and pastries. will put conference and party food on later today. good luck to all and thanks for the weekend.
Not pleased here either... I was so enjoying the 80's... now I have travelled back to the 90's!!!!
interesting that calories go right up when alcohol and others are involved... not entirely - i can certainly eat by myself. i see both k and i forgot simon's cold pizza that we bit on sunday! you 1 point me 250 cals. really i am a bit sick of being left behind. really must start three month exercise program tomorrow. could start today but would probably throw up my excess dinner calories. really am sick of ks arse getting smaller and running away!
A lovely weekend away.
Weight stable, yay alcohol! Must have withered my liver!
Actually I think it was all the exercise my abs got with laughing.
LOL
GREAT TIME GALS!
Up again... not good.
Must stop eating so much and get some more exercise!!
Hey all..
Karen...must be you making the most of your last few days as a full-time Mother and House Manager!
Simone - mmmm Pizza!
As for me - I have just spent time at Mum and Dad's eating and drinking and relaxing...Was sooo much fun!
Joined the bean club today. I had organic baked beans for lunch!
:-)
So...K..ready for your first DAY back at work?
:-)
And for your landscaping?
Ahhh... the bean club!!
Where the hell is Cookie?
Yes you will be shocked to find that it DOES all come back to you and nothing changes. I felt that after long service leave.
And yes where is Cookie.
Sim is at work working, I was just on the phone to her.
And the beans have given me heartburn!
And yes the green relish was nice, I forgot to mention that.
eating toast.. i believe one should put the toast down while chewing. forced to while typing... but generally speaking better to put it down.
Better to put the toast down while chewing, better to put the spoon down while chewing/swallowing.. better to put the fork down while chewing... better to not talk while chewing... better to not eat at all and then we wouldn't have to chew and then we wouldn't have to decide about putting the toast, fork, spoon down while chewing....
hello chickens,
me have the flu again.. oh no!
not much to say but i did want to boast that i walked almost 7 miles last tuesday. my legs were so tired once i finished and sat down! but a good attempt. my charity walk is only 6 weeks away so need to kick start the training. will try and do a long walk sunday night if i'm feeling up to it. its kev's 40th birthday on saturday night though im not going to drink too much as i will be up with le kid on sunday.
glad to hear you lovely ladies had a good time during your weekend away in queensland. wish i were there with you all!
best wishes to mrs hill and her soon to be ex-gall bladder. hope it all goes well.
hello to miss jane who i've not really spoken to for ages. hope you doing well!
and good luck to ms simone who is starting her liver cleanse again tomorrow. maybe i will too. sometimes its just beyond me to write down my eating for the day though i know i need to! been reaasonable good though i think.
love to all. j xx
hey cook cookie, kh and i were to start this monday but as she is in recovery from her padlock surgery we are starting the following week. it is 8 weeks of most vege eating. so come join us... be one of us...
Padlock surgery - ha ha. took a while for the penny to drop...and then it dropped into the money slot! ha ha ha.You are very witty women.
Good luck with your liver cleansing diet! I'll watch you both wizz down past me on the scales...
Hmmm... back in the 80's weight wise.
Catherine. Nice. Go writer Simone!
How is the shuffling pain lady today?
I have not checked my weight this week. My pants are telling me it would be depressing.
LOL.
I have a friend staying and she is paying me in food! I have told her to stop. NOW.
Now that it is May it has hit me that I am going to be in Fiji in about 6 weeks. That means BATHERS! :-)
look here little miss nancy drew.. i dont think your formula for points=calories is quite correct. apparently the formula is a protected recipe akin to 11 secret herbs and spices. the formula takes into account calories, fat and fibre. Second, nancy, ww points dont include most veg or salad - so the actual calories per day for 23 points would be higher than 1400. it is more like 1700. let us take the test.. i will put in my food now and then calculate the calories... you do that with your old points.
good day to you too jane!
OK OK SR... I take your point.. your food of 1600 looks to be about 20 points..
Forgot that free foods are not counted as any points!!
You ALWAYS have to be right... (mostly cause you always are)... Good Luck to you!
Good day to you too Dishgirl...
lol... nice to see some scrapping dieters arguing over points vs calories!
oh... so tired after my sleepover shift at work last night. had arranged to go for a long walk tonight but have been scuppered by having to pick up the wee girl. oh well... can i will myself to go out walking at 830pm? we'll see...
karen glad to hear you are on the mend... you must be if you are out walking! yeah... that's some big keyhole surgery... maybe they use those big ones to measure with, you know the one you get when you turn 21?? good that you are rockless now.
eating not very good now as house has been filled with bad food in the fridge since kev's birthday on the weekend. yes i had birthday cake for lunch yesterday and today. though have been reasonable with my regular meals so that's good.
got to get new batteries for my scales cos i don't know what weight is... will pick some up tonight.
We did send off a birthday card to him... but it will arrive a little late
Tell Kevin that Simon also has a problem with the timeframe of birthdays.. He also believes he can celebrate it for at least a week.. and should also be receiving gifts all week! Good Luck!
Morning women of the world...well Simone, Justine and Karen.
Firstly - happy birthday to Kevin.
Secondly, birthday celebrations actually last a month.
this dieting thing seems very very complex. Lucky I am not following it! LOL
J - sleepover? What are you doing?
hi all. recorded my poor diet for yesterday. could be worse. i congratulate myself every day for not eating bread!
jane - sleepover for me is when i stay over night at work... i get to sleep but im there for emergencies but i am usually only woken up for nicotine emergercenies when people want to take money out of the office to buy ciggies! it is not appreceiated...
not much too say... weather is grand here this week - been in the low 20's and its brilliant! there is a buzz here when the sun is shining.
mum arrives here in the next 2 weeks... oh dear... i better find a bed for them! it will be nice tho... not least to have a baby sitter in house!
love to all... i'm having a baked potatoe tonight instead of pasta for dinner tonight.
D- for spelling
does not my last message make sense??
re-reading some bits may be a bit clunky.
perhaps it is just that my message is that of an "emerging" blogger???!!!!
It is still very sensitive and bruised and one of my money box holes is having trouble closing up and healing properly... apart from that my tummy is sealed.. .and now covered in scars..
good - am glad my crazy words make sense to someone!
karen. seems a bit rough you have to go back to work full o holes. i hope no other organs drop out of it while you are sauntering up the aisles at work!
oh gosh. liver detox tomorrow... ok ok ... i keep intentionally forgetting. funnily enough i have to go get my bloods done to check the old liver tomorrow. sure it be fine tho...
it does make you wonder if all those years of bad eating has really scuppered our poor old bodies.
good luck for work tomorrow k. jxx
oh... and by the way that's a neat trick karen's body is doing saying NO to choc pudding and cream... i wish my liver would say NO!
my money's gonna be on karen that you will be the one to watch for future weight loss.
Morning!
Very very tired.
take care. love youse all.

only one baddie... will do better tomorrow
look you crazy kids.. i am not saying you dont make sense cookie, i am doing my ignorant 'what did they say' thing in response to an accent. all i meant was that you seemed to have an accent! crazy kids with falling out bits.
I have other recipes for chick chow mien that use the LCD incredients... will find one and put it up on recipe board as an alternative... bit disappointing given that all the recipes in the detox book were such winners. well soldier on.. we can always supplement with detox recipes.
how is little raison girl going... cookie seems to like choc raisons! me too... but all i have is lcd carrot cake.. not bad.
going to dad and kates this weekend so probably wont be seen until monday... good luck to you all and good luck to my farm work.
Last week not so good
hi ladies.
(and oh - she likes the choclate raisins too! a little too much)...
mum's arriving tomorrow so must push on and do some bits to get organised. must remember to get my book out to make meal plan for the week.
hey karen - i read the other day that if you don't eat carbs before exercising then your body will feast on muscle instead of fat. so i let myself have bread last night before i walked. do you think this is true? i was also looking up diet stuff for healty livers and found a lot of stuff about flaxseed oil cleasing out the fat and also coconut oil being a good fat to eat as it's processed differently. i think they recommend similar things for liver and gall bladder probs... interesting. tho sorry - do tell me how is being back at work going??
what's new with you janey??
oh and my freakin scale is out of battery again.
Hi everyone!
Off to choir tonight, maybe I should walk. :-)
So, Karen, how is work going?
And Sim, how is your week going?
Ciao for now.
Jane

Our team is starting at midnight and the walk goes around edinburgh for 12 miles (yikes!). we've estimated it'll take about 5 hours (goody just in time for breakfast). so if anyone would like to sponser me let me know... oh - and did i say - as part of the publicity for the event people walk in their bras!
here's a like to show it is a bonefide event!
www.walkthewalk.org/Challenges/TheMoonWalkEdinburgh
ahh... anyway. back to diet business. been so so the last few days. have strayed from liver cleansing but not been too bad.
Karen - a mighty big adjustment to go back to walk... and it is a lot of time away from mackenzie. i'm sure you'll find a way to juggle things and make it work. how's simon doing at home being mr mom?
Yes mum arrived here a few days ago with her man, and things have been good. theyre off out at the moment so things are quiet at the minute.. but has been hectic lately so not had a chance to organise right food for dieting.
take care and good luck to your walking/stepping/eating/gym exercising lives.
j xx
had awful vomitty bug last night... so good news is had no dinner. bad news is today all i wanted in my tummy is bad bread!! feeling better now tho...
Good luck to you all
Hi everyone,
Poor Justine with her numerous buggies. You must be exhausted.
Karen hope work routine is getting easier and you enjoyed your weekend with your family.
Simone, what's news with you?
All quiet here. Went to see Iron Man last night with a few friends, it was fun and Robert Downey is fiiiiinnnneee. sigh.
Have a lovely day/week ladies.
xxxxx
ahh iron man.. was it good? it was on my list..
well news...
Hi everyone!
Simone don't put away the happy face! Find a new one.
Please?
love J
xxx
PS Behind the green door was a hard core p0rn movie.
What HAVE you been watching??
LOL
goodness... quite an eventful time you have had miss S. what a myriad of emotions on your sweet face?
good that you've heard from him after such a time. he must have been thinking of you to get in touch... sad to hear the illness has progressed so far though. hmmm... an emotional time for you tho too, so no wonder you feelings are all over the place!
take care and just take things easy woman...
today - i had macdonalds for lunch and indian takeaway for dinner - so i ask myself why i am feeling bloated??? bad few eating days after vomitty bugs. reason was probably that i broke the toilet and had my hands down the cistern. no one else got sick just me!!! toilet now fixed after having to use a bucket to flush water down loo just like in a third world country (or greece).
oh yeah - SEX AND THE CITY!!!!!!!!
yes i have seen and no... i will give no hint of any spoiler.
i fancy iron man too - had heard it was good... i will try and catch it!
thanks a lot gals... no problem here.. i have a bag of denial not unlike the one k used to carry around. whatever happened to that?
See ya!!
Hi everyone,
Okay, SATC for me on TUESDAY!
Ciao for now...Jane
Good Luck to you all for this week!
Dish - Seen it yet????????
i see you had a 'last supper' monday K... before your other comp kicked off. my house mate broke up with her boyfriend and she is on a jogging thing... i walk - she jogs around the oval... a little running for me.. i hope to one day be competitive again for little karen.
I was about to make a BIG point in a meeting on friday and then ... nothing. was like the power went out in the middle of a storm. ding... anyway back to doctor man for some more investigation of my bowel bacteria.
hello my hungry buttercups...
yes nothing like a little healthy competition K! goodness and to be weighed at work so er... publicly. well yes that would give some extra motivational push! and sim it sounds like you have a new motivating pal at home... certainly prevents much laziness at home which is my hobby of choice!
well - apart from saturday which i did - i am pleased and proud as punch to say that i did make the 13.1 miles (21.1km) on saturday night for my charity thing! hooray for my because by god i felt like was carrying a big sack of potatoes on my back by 10 miles (compared to my slimmer pals)! yeah the last 3 miles were sheer grit as i could easily have just stopped and cried... but i did make the finish line.
Hi everyone,
haven't been online cos I have been sick. Still am, made it to work but don't think I will last long.
Congratulations on all the running and walking etc! Justine your story telling abilities are very good. You had me giggling.
Okay that is about all I am up for.
take care everyone.
xxxx
Hi miss jane,
sorry to hear you've been sick! hope you are feeling better soon... is it your asthma? :(
food eating day today pretty good. apart from the fries I had at lunch and the snack of cheesy pasta i just had cos i've not had dinner yet. no... these items are not part of the super low-carb vege diet. i don't know how the snuck into my mouth when i wasn't looking! will be more focused tomrorrow. so much depends on preparation of meals and snacks! haven't finished writing my meal plan for week but should finish tonight. good luck ladies!
Hey J - yeah it is my lungs, asthma and chest infection. I sound like I should be starring in a Jane Austen movie as the strange Aunt laid up in bed with the consumptive!
On a bright note I think the laboured breathing is helping me lose weight.
:-)
lol... i can see you in a jane austin film miss jane.... but not as the aunt, as the lovely attractive heroin.. maybe miss eliza bennett. have you been watching them? persuasion was very strange last week.
Hi everyone,
nothing to report here sorry, still struggling to breathe so no movies for me, or anything but earning money.
Keep up your good heathy endeavours.
cheers
Jane
aww poor miss jane. i shall ring thee soon. thanks very much for the cherishing well wishes from cookster and karen margaret.
Oh Simone, that is so sad. Poor Monty. An end to the pain though. sigh.
hello little hens,
it is very sad about monty isn't it. but i think he had a very lovely life with you simone, and some formative years with you jane (and a short time being snubbed by your karen in brunswick!). he was a good and dependable pet and loved simone very much... let me know what you are going to do with his ashes.
i received a lovely postcard today from you miss jane! how very thoughtful... and how very nice sydney looks! very sweet and thoughtful of you! good to hear the chest infection is healing. sounds like you've had it pretty nasty. and my god fiji sounds like heaven to me... just heaven! when do you go... i'm sure you've said but can't remember. and what a wonderful thing it is to have a credit card with such high interest . those banks (ie shareholders) are really nice people really aren't they. the way they feast on our meagre existances and gobble up our money!
much the way i gobbled up that nice bagette at lunchtime. and heres a funny thing - i've noticed before but maybe i should take more notice of - the sides of my mouth go red and itchy sometimes if i eat a flouery bread roll. you know what i mean... those rolls with flour all over them (do they have them in aust?). guess that means i'm alergic and not suprised my insides puff up like a teletubbie when i eat bread.
karen - just re-reading you're biggest loser thing at work. boy the person who lost 2.7 kg in a week is sure something aren't they? you got some competition baby... hope you sqeeze some time to get back into that gym. for me i think all my talk on joining was really no going to happen... cost too much and think i'll just try and keep up with the walking.
stay well everybody - jane - hope your lungs are feeling better. sim - dont take your eyes "off the ball" (and i'll say a wee heathen prayer to the gods tonight for the lovely monty) and karen - give the peanut a kiss on the head for me.
What are you planning to do for your birthday Cookie monster... ??
Dish - how are you doing? Are you feeling much better now? How is working life?
Hi everyone,
Yeah, keep up the good work Simone!
Back at work and still playing catch up with work and life. Doesn't pay to be sick! And I have had some dramas with my holiday. Both of my friends I was meant to travel with have pulled out!! So, I have to go by myself. Not happy. Oh well, nothing I can do about it really.
How's the work/life balance thing going Karen?
Justine - so big birthday plans?
Now, back to catch up!
Cheers
Jane
Hello 'me heartys'.. watching too much Wiggles captain feathersword!!
Nearly Cookie's birthday... a 3 & a 6.. OOOOhhh!
Hello to you Dish - work/life balance not so balanced currently but will continue to work on that (at work).. ha ha
Miss all of you little cherry pies... hope you are happy & healthy!
K.M.Hill
well... long time no words from me!
not much to report really... just been busy somehow. have logged on a few times and seen there's not much chatting going on. maybe jane's away checking out the local fijians... maybe karen's away working 23 1/2 hours a day... and maybe my lovely sister is still missing our beloved monty boy (xx).
Hello lovely ladies,
As I said to Cookie the other night - I don't understand the appeal of 'This Life'... although I say that and I keep watching it!
That was good of her. made me feel better.
hello blossoms.
what an eventful week miss s. it sounds good that you got a chance to share and connect with lee's other friends. i'm glad it went well for you... interesting that others have opinions about family and choices made about the arrangements. but i guess it's hard from all sides isn't it.
good you've picked up an editor too... she's not there to be a critic tho is she? just to edit. make sure you tell her to get back to yo job beeatch(!) if she pipes in with any unwelcome criticism.
glad you are sounding well... and making plans. don't worry plans for the gym etc will come to fruition if you want them to. it's good you're planning and having being so positive. besides - wait a wee while until your stupid god is back from his leave of absence.
on a note of dieting have i told you of my favorite thing of the minute: hot chocolate made from cocoa, sweetner and soymilk. its pretty good. fills you up. in the words of simone rodda "i like it. i like it a lot." quite nice and creamy with the soy...
have started posting my food again too... i was unable to post last week because i had a day of domestic domesticity and baked a batch of bannana muffins for sarah. lets just say i don't think it is a good thing for me to do home baking as i was in a rotten mood, and then they magically disappeared. i'll never tell how many i baked. or ate.
anyway... where is the dish girl. is she on her hols? hope she no sick again.
Mrs hill it was a pleasure to talk to you last week... don't leave it so long next time. Was going to say too - did anyone ever suggest leaving extra dummies in the cot for the peanut to find herself. I leave so many in sarahs cot that she can hardly turn her head at night... but it means she can sort herself out and go back to sleep.
anyway... i'm hungry. i think i'll go eat... its 10.42pm. i'm not long back from work. i should sleep but can't. might have a soychocochino instead.
j xx
Hi everyone,
I'm back!
Simone - I am happy to hear that all went well at the Laundry and you got to share.
Karen - so the work life balance thing still needs tweaking by the sounds of it.
Justine - love the multiple dummies strategy. And the sound of home baking! How domesticated are you! Seriously, glad you had a good birthday too.
Take care.
Jane

yeah count your chickens too fast dishy.. remember i have loved this bloke for six and a half years... working only short days because they send me home due to getting tired and teary.
but yes.. as stated.. i have spent a year licking my lack of love wounds and it is nice to even talk of plans of leaving my lovely dvd collection.
Have a good day everyone!

tried to purchase a cat at lunch time today. well two actually - one as a back up as advised to the staff at the lord smith.
Morning everyone,
A back up! How strange. If only it were that easy. Sounds like an exhausting exercise Simone.
Ha. Muffin muncher and Selma Kayak. LOL. Nothing wrong with your sense of humour.
Hope everyone has a good day today.
Selma

work sent me flowers today - well my boss anyway. it wasnt such a surprise as the admin girl was hanging around yesterday asking what time i thought i might be home. eventually - without any prodding - she whispered.. it's just that we are sending you flowers. last week i read a book she loaned me and she told me about the final twist when i was 50 pages from the end. really.. she couldnt keep a secret if it were zipped in her pocket.
been working on that line.. salma kayak is a winner though
I would like it noted that the 'zipped' part of that humorous line was bought to you by Karen Hill!!
Hi comedians aplenty!
LOL
Well, off to work now!
Take care, miss youse all.
Oh and K - hope you all enjoy Noosa.
xxxx
well hit the wall last thursday. started 'work from home' and then had to go to bed which i stayed until this morning. there were various intervals of leaving my bed (dinner with trev and zoe, wine with my editor, video shop). bed is so nice and safe and comfortable. work suggested i take the week off to grieve. i suggested that if i did this i may call in sick from my bed for the rest of my life. they suggested i come to work! grief apparently has stages and my first 8 days were denial and shock. now i seem to have skipped anger and bargaining and gotten onto the sadness horse. i agreed with some of the supervisors not to go straight to bed when i got home. not until 7pm and i wasnt allowed to eat dinner in bed. so i arrived home, painted a picture, wrote this blog while i ate dinner and will have a shower and voila... 7pm it is almost.. very hard work this business.
Poor Simone. Take care. Maybe see you on Friday.
And bed is good. And warm. But better without food in it so well done!
xxxx
thanks miss j. got home at 5pm today and have had 2 hours before being able to go to bed... it's such a lonnnng time. so far bath, talk to housemate, work out tax, drink protein shake.... 24 minutes left to go. it is so tiring. but i think helpful as it was a better day at work today. still 24 minutes to go. waiting... waiting.. ah 23 minutes
another night and still no sleep at almost midnight. i dont get why no one seems to care that HE HAS DIED.
Hi everyone,
sorry to hear about the sleeping difficulty Simone but I guess this is all part of the tough process of grieving.
Take care of yourselves!
Love
J

the air is silent.... weight going up up up.... had to buy some new clothes today because i had thrown the others away. not good. weight loss blog needs to have a look at itself!
hello lovely ladies,
yes the air is very quite on the "challenge blog" these days. my excuse for the last month is that sarah moved back into her room with the computer. hence having very little access.
however, some kind family have taken our stinking guinea pigs so woopee! we now have a little walk in cupboard space for the computer!
not much to say - hope all every one is well.
Back to Blogging!!!
As i submitted there they have the rights so i have a breather for three months... enough time for exercise. ahh
Yeah... we both have a 'Constanza' voice!!!!!
ha Georgie..
stood in front of snack machine at 2.30 - even though my photo is displayed banning myself - and ummed and ahhed and then said announced i think i really want veg juice. they all thought it very funny and others went up and asked for beetroot and celery and then snickers. still sickers from visiting k and her child who like little sarah seems to carry germs even though i didnt get to close but i suppose its all around. i was grumpy after 5 days of not enough sleep and told little macas i didnt much care for her. sorry macas. may as well been hungry.. this cold means nicotine wdl and more grumpiness. ohhh. just saw ad.. phone broke two days ago and i am getting an apple i phone because its only $7 more a month. it was insured for loss and theft but not if it ceased to work. after an hour of explaining the madness of the mobile business to a bloke in india i gave it away and went to northland. advised girl i usually yell in optus. she was scared and told me they had no phones which may have been true as they are closing on sunday. come on juicers!
gosh what a lot of crazy conversations!
hi - good to see that the girls are back on the blog. even if they are sick, tired, hungry and full of the cold...
yes - the cookie is returning to the land of drought, sun and baker's delight (never ever let me go into one of those evil white bakery's when i return).
when? that is the hard question... property prices are downward sliding fast and a lot of the big banks are only lending mortgage money to people with a 20% deposit - hence no houses selling. there's talk of a recession here by the end of the year but - fingers crossed - we can sell without leaving ourselves in too much of a hole. the mostly likely scenario is we will be over sometime next year i think... just wait till things pick up.
(gosh - this is big talk - i'll really have to put my dieting determination where my mouth is). yes - I may be sorry for baiting you lovely aussie girls!
ok. will post my food for today.
and will - perhaps unwisly - go eat that icecream sandwich that is in the freezer.
love to you all... xx
lol.. you are funny writer. i went to the first final of footy on sunday and ate nuts and soy instead of chips and cows. very pleased with myself. went with guy from work and his mates. think i really prefer going by myself - too much presure to interact when i like to listen to the radio like an old lady with a blanky.double dipping today with work and lecture which is on stereotypes. wish id never said i would lecture this semester.. too hard on top of the underpaid demanding job.. where IS KS and where is JS??
Hi everyone!
Take care.
Jane
xxxx
love? standish? what love? you keeping a secret lov-er? or is it that bloke you snogged... joy? what joy did you get? i remember joy. i also remember not being so consumed with eating. really i made a home made bacon and cheese muffin for breakfast while i was thinking of good choices for the day. then i sped from work to bundoora to do a lecture and was there early and tired and stressed and ate more ordinary food that made me feel more tired and stressed.
in the words of the great poet JS 'stupid lifestyle'
S
How rude is it when somebody gets in your way on the road and they then yell out and call that person a 'fat f***'.... poor chalky - that is what some toothless lady (jack-o-lantern) called him 2 days ago... he couldn't believe it.. and he was under pressure to counter attack so came up with and yelled at 'do you kiss your kids with that mouth'... what is THAT about... funny...
rude people..
the counter is going well. i eat a lot that i forget. it takes a while to write everything down and is good motivation not to eat so much!
with all your visitors k you must be eating out at some point.. what about some receitps?? miss jane has recently provided a nice one. i got a receipt for my breakfast that was veg for $15. my nice place has closed so i went to the over priced craporolla place in northcote. can you believe that they couldnt even provide a piece of toast for that price. excessive - but good for people allledgedly cutting down on bread.
i have the week working from home so expect to see exercise each day! lets hope expectations meet actions!
went to the gym today. very pleasant. burnt many calories. now cooking soup. on track.. hooray
what about you gals?
