left lecture yesterday very tired. last one this morning. on way home thought i would go shopping and started imagining nice things to buy. no shopping allowed. good choice.
anyway i found a cheap ticket to nam for my birthday/ny. always wanted to go to nam. sorry cookie not coming to uk - but nam closer to my bank balance. its a funny word nam.
Simone - not shopping - good non eating plan. I should do that. How very cool about your holiday to Vietnam! Very exciting. Well done. I only ever hear good reports about Vietnam from people that have been there for a holiday.
Karen, how is Simon? Recovered from road rage insults yet? I would have cried. I was thinking of abusing someone on the train the other day but then thought if they call me a fat (insert nasty word here) I would just cry. And that would be embarrasing. :-)I am very teary at the moment. Seriously, I can cry because someone says they like my top! Very strange.
And how are the kids?
Justine, how sad that I may not get to visit you again over there. Money is tight here. I've been subsidising my brother a lot this year and it is starting to take its toll on my savings. Looks like I won't be travelling for awhile. Very sad. Oh well I have my health...hold on.... sorry silly mood today. Late night doing voluntary work.
have not written much for a while but need to get down to it!
Poor simon... what makes a toothless old crone think she is entitled to make such a comment! that really is awful... people can be really evil cant they.
Not much to report here - except my weight seems to have gone up - oh dear! boy that was big talk about arriving back all slinky...
yeah we do a lot of talking here... who's gonna take some action?!?
i guess maybe we are just oral people... talking eating talking eating...
i know i've said it before but i'll say it again. some action really needs to be taken! diet has been so/so last few weeks. have almost ditched the bread... had toast for first time in a week last night and this morning woke with diarrhea. the less wheat i eat the more it seems to affect me... even the tiniest bit.
i made a minestrone soup last night and had - without the pasta. sim - i vaguely followed your soup book to make it (that you sent me). it was really nice... and so easy! a one pot dinner... jane i think you should give this soup malarky a go! good for non chef types!
so my idea of the moment is to eat a lot of soup!
well that's all i have to say... quite tired. have had flu this week and feeling rotten!
yes re the soup, i tried to hook dish up with a book but she advised me that rachel cooks and does so without books.. so no book for her. its 4pm and i have eaten 2 sausages in bread with onion. been workin all day saturday. mustnt eat the cupboard when i finish. went to prelim final last night and took my own food.. protein chips instead of hot chips. good on me.
smithy - look i am just going to say it.. you have been that to me for 20 years - any way smuth is with brother etc (!) and probably stressing out and eating chips so we may see her tomorrow. i am trying to take a stand cookie, but weight is not shifting......!!!
Justine - sorry to hear you have been unwell again. You have had more than your share of illnesses over the last few months! Poor thing.
Simone - thanks for checking on me the other day after my comment at crying at the 'drop of a hat'. I think it is hormonal - had my "implant" taken out a few weeks ago and that is when the tears started. I have booked to have another one put in. all this crying plays hell with my makeup! LOL.
I have nearly given up on my weight battle. Much easier. :-)
hi disho, wheres smitho? no food listings for her.. is she off the wagon? or on it? whatever the right one is. cookie you dont eat much - just once every couple of weeks acording to the food list. good effort. im sick again.. too much work at home and not enough rest. thought i got over that peanuts illness but now tired and chest bad again -= fear i have emphasema. the cursed fear of every puffer. i was saying to my supervisor yesterday that no-one asks about my grief any more. someone else said that people allow six weeks and then it is expected that you just get over it. is that what everyone thinks? odd.
HELLO LITTLE RABBITS!!! Sorry I have been missing in action. So much chatting without me! So much to comment and catch up on. Will make more comment tomorrow, as have to go to work now... I would however like it noted that I am indeed ON THE WAGON!!! definitely on after getting on scales, which am refusing to list. Will plan to list weight next Mon if has moved a little. Action Action Action... action required everywhere - with weight, at work, with exercise... so tired thinking of it.
Karen good to see you back blogging! You are a busy busy busy woman. Hope work went well for you today.
Simone, how are you today? Still sickly? Hope not.
Did I mention to anyone that I have a temporary transfer at work? I decided I was ready for a change (a little one) and will be a "Marketing Officer" while someone else here is on maternity leave.
ARGH. Change. LOL.
Anyhoo, now I realise it is home time for this little bunny.
Dishgirl - a different job again... oh well, variety is the spice of life (apparently).. How long are you playing Marketing Officer? Such a nice community girl doing so much volunteering... are you still singing in the choir?
SR - Expecting somebody to get 'over' such a thing in 6 wks sounds absurd! Hope you are feeling well and doing OK - just to let you know I may not ask you often but am often thinking of you and what you may be going through... Will advise you and the Dish when I will be travelling to Melb for a weekend - still going for end of Oct - may fall into early Nov, but next 4 - 6 wks.
Cookie cracker - nice to see you posting some eating... sounds like you are doing good on ditching the bread and choosing soup! As you say, people can be evil (re: nasty woman's comment to Simon). How is the Kevin cracker and the wee cracker?... Can't believe you will all be living back in the country in the coming months...
Meant to ask SR - how did you take the Grand final result? How did father Rodda take it... Simon drove me nuts (Hawks boy). He was screaming at the TV and then on such a high he was dancing around out the front like an idiot... I thought him silly, peanut thought him very funny!!
yes football very unfortunate. i take up a sports viewing activity to take my mind off loss and voila the cats make a return to the defeats of the 90s. i have decided not to burn my beanie as yet and may give it another year. father rodda was upset and kept threatening to chop wood throughout the game. the town is now in recession - again.
i just took a 90 minute walk and must lie down in a moment. got a call from lee's friend rosemary last night. they have organised a memorial/wake for the tuesday eve 28 october at the laundry - private function. apparently his daughter wont be attending. nutters. i wish it were all over and i could stop eating and get on with it. bring on nam and take away this damn baby sickness. i have new empathy for the mothers of this blog who keep getting colds from the flu carriers. k suggested going to a doctor on thursday and it seemed a novel idea so i am on penacilin now for my coughing.
i had upped the dose of the thyroid tablet a couple of weeks ago (as per script) and got the same symptoms as in january on a different drug for the same prob. was in video shop trying to read covers and wondered why the print on the covers was so blurry. eventually worked out it was me. had a blood test and will get onto that! where's cookster? good on js for getting a different job. you are all winners.
oh it's cold cold cold here in the lowlands! it's 2 degrees which shouldn't feel so cold but it does! I keep breaking out in hives when i'm cold... maybe im alergic to the cold? (as well as wheat, carbs, sugar, dairy and household chores).
me teeth are ch-ch-ch-chattering all over my k-k-k-keyboard!
Nice to read your entries... have not looked the last few days as it is all happening here in the English household. Have been working pretty much full time this/last week hence much busy-ness and little time. Life is a blur of "hello kevin - here - take your kid - goodbye kevin". Have been doing fulltime as there are extra shifts at work, and thought i'd grab them while I could, as we are needing to save for airfares, visas etc. So, i'm booked in full time for the next month... if it goes ok i might go back full time permanently - or at least until the house sells. Not on the market yet but planning to have it on by end of year. Must remind myself that it is only short term.
Karen I meant to text you to wish the little a very happy first birthday! did you have a party and have you got photos? I had left myself a message to text but i somehow forgot... i hope you all had a lovely day!
Hi jane - you sound like you were not so good in the hormonal area! Urgh... i hate the hormonal crying... it's so uncontrolable! Hope you are feeling happier now baby! Sounds like you are and good you have a new job to give you a change of scene... are you looking forward to it?
Sim.. i told you, you must have Maeres-Irlen Syndrome too! No wonder you can't read the back of video boxes... geez! light sensitivity, blurry words.. its classic symptoms! Though seriously bad you've been sick too - what a nasty chest infection you must have to get penacilin. no good. and yes - i too quite often think of how you are doing in terms of your grief... id guess that lots of other people around you do as well but don't always bring it up. i'll try and call you more often sister. xx
right - am going now because i can no longer see properly and i need to sleep. oh - good day diet wise as too busy too eat bad. thought i did have home made apple crumble for breakfast. is that wrong? will that halt my efforts to be the diet queen of 2008? (at this point i'd like to remark there was NO diet "the challenge" queen of 2007. no - we are not worthy! jane - i don't believe you have given up... in fact i think you may be the dark horse of 2008!
take care my little macadamias, (why is mackenzie a peanut and not a macadamia?).
I was thinking today as I read everyone's messages - what a varied, busy, and interesting group of people we are!
Justine and Karen - it must be so hard to juggle work and family. I admire you both. And Simone - you have always juggled so many things in your life and I have always been amazed at your energy levels.
I just had four days of running around for family and I am shattered! Four days! I think my time for having children is past. I'm too old now. Oh well.
Simone, on the bright side - at least your team got to the finals and gave you some good games! Remember I am a Richmond supporter. LOL.
cookie - why are you typing with your teeth? they are for bitin.. diet queen of 2008;. hilarious... there is still three months to go. my tongue misses bread but as stated by ks the belly finds many substitutes.. pita, crumpets, mountain bread, pizza.... not quite on the right wagon yet. hows the new job going dish?
Tell your tongue to shut the hell up!!! You can't eat pizza if you are not eating bread... oh, hang on, I guess you can if it is made from the pita variety...
Interesting comments from you Dishy... are we all too busy?? I think that is the problem... are we busy for busyness sake or are we busy at getting to a goal?... BUSY is a funny word isn't it?
Got up early this morning to mop the floors - does that count as exercise? LOL.
I don't start my new job until the end of the month, I'll let you know when I move desks! :-) I'm such a risk taker.
I took Ivy (the elderly lady I take out once a fortnight) to the Williamstown RSL on Monday - see such an exciting life! Then I went home to do the vaccuming. Woo hoo!
And now I am back at work. I need to plan something fun...mmmmmm...that's a tough one.
Hope you are feeling better now Simone!
Still no weight loss in sight. I have switched from champagne to red wine. I am drinking less because I don't like it as much but no falling pounds yet!
busy is a funny word.. bizzzzzee not as funny as being followed around by a large protrusion where you bottom once was. poor bottom has gotten bigger like a balloon. i started searching for a psychologist today that specialises in griefloss and eating disorders. not doing so well the last couple of weeks.. sleeping at the other end of my bed, dreaming of pokies, watching endless dvds, not writing or reading.. although did read womens weekly yesterday and thought the fashion was nice. kill me now. dont want to think or feel which is difficult when my job involves asking other counsellors how they think and feel. i can feel my bottom does that count?
Simone, sorry to hear that you are not too flash at the moment. When is your holiday again? Getting away from your work and your normal surrounds will help I am sure. I'll call you tonight.
Big news here. I actually did an excercise class on Saturday. Shock horror. I tried out Pilates (at 8.30am on Saturday) and really enjoyed it. Lets see if I can motivate myself for a second class!
sim - glad to hear you have found a new shrinkette. hope you meets with your expectations! lol... why are you warning her about you before you even set foot in the door?
got your message today and will try and ring tomorrow. sounds like you've been in a slump... will speak tomorrow.
what was all that funny stuff about being followed around by your bottom!?
jane - very impressed you been to pilates. at first i thought it was 830pm, then saw 830am on a sat. morning - which left me even more impressed! how was it? always wanted to try it...
karen hope you have survived your moving house and the little peanut is now devoid of spots! are you moving into the place you are simon built? (i imagine palatial like Corinthian columns and shiny marble inside)...
we're all fine here... had half a cold this week... have been off most wheaty things, though bought some rye bread which i thought might be alright. but no, was dying of unpleasant toilet symptoms by the afternoon.
current belief sits at that i have coeliacs disease! well, not sure about that but am going to try and really go off all wheat to see if that helps.
recent weight lost - zero exercise - less than zero
Well I had a ploppy day at work yesterday! Today is looking better.
Justine I have to ask - how do you have half a cold - only one nostril blocked? Sorry, just being silly.
I took Ivy out to the Kooringal golf club for the seniors lunch on Sunday - still living the high life! She turns 93 next month! I also took a day off to clean the house and the shed! Yes, I don't know how I cope with the excitement!
I have just been accepted into the Australian Marketing Institute as a Certified Practising Marketer!
i think you are underplaying your life miss jane... i am sure you are much busier than you are letting on... mmm ... me thinks you are engaging in underhyperbole.
how come everyone knows ks is moving house? i didnt know.. not until i rang to ascertain the reasons as to her lack of blogging. maybe she is struck by the reflection from all that marble. lol.. funny.
saw burn after reading = the new coen brothers film. brad pitt is astoundingly good - oscar material is my guess. he has finally managed to be really really stupid. and he was stupid before. anyway.. its recommended.
better go -- movie show starting.. oh got pay rise after 7 months of negotations... hooray
I just typed for about 10mins.. lots of comments etc... apparently I was not signed in to blog and clicked to put comment in and lost whole thing... Well at least you all know that I did type a nice message to each of you.. that I have no time or memory to type again...
lol... finally she comes back and its all the blogs fault. apparently ks has joined weight watchers on line - we are not big enough losers. (says the girl currently eating a piece of chocolate pie). Currently writing my 50k book in a month on the counselling line 'call me crazy' and at word number 14003. the characters are loosely based on people at work and one of the skinny middle class know alls is a character who i am going to make very fat. So i thought i would pilfer a few phrases from the blog. hope no one minds.
Simone - here is some material for you - At the start of the year I created a weight loss spreadsheet with weekly goals and a cumulative weight loss goal versus actual calculation. I called it my Goals spreadsheet. Last month I renamed my spreadsheet to ARGH!!!!
Interesting.. sounds like some complicated weight loss!!
Here I am .. back again and YES, I have joined WW online, which was in the message that I lost some days ago... still annoyed about that! So, I am entering food in there.. .and having some trouble sticking to the 22 points per day. Will talk about weight loss when I have lost 5kgs... Hope everybody is well... can't wait to see you 2 - Dishy & SR in the next wk or so!
Cookie crumpet - hope you are feeling well and the family are well. Also can't wait to see you... And now I must go and eat something else for breakfast... and then leave...
I have just had a lovely weekend. I had the house to myself, I cooked, cleaned, did washing, hung pictures, did some gardening, danced, had brunch with a NEW friend, attended an auction (didn't buy) stopped at another NEW friend's place for a cuppa. AND they were both boys! LOL. Don't get excited I just mentioned their sex to get your attention. They are just friends, I just thought it is significant because I don't have male friends well straight ones anyway.
Better get to work! Chat soon. Take care. Sim, got your board yet?
yes quiet group. i thought you did all that this weekend... ah alas it was two weeks ago dish.
well i got my $250 pills yesterday. got to give them the best shot to make me smart and thin like a cross between the nanny and skully. just walked 30 minutes - big effort. my new house mate russell gets up every morning at 6am and power walks for 40 minutes. makes me feel very lazy. anyway it's not right to exercise so early and in qld time its really 5am and in scotland its... mmmm... who the hell knows. those west wing watchers may remember the scene where great brains couldnt work out weather president bartlett was getting back from japan 11am or 11pm... time is confusing. ahhh but eating isnt. cooking soup before taking back videos to avoid the bad pizza shop. XXXXXXXXXXXXXx
Simone - I hope all goes well at the dentist. I hate having something wrong with my teeth. It sucks! LOL.
Hey everyone - I lost a kilo last week. But I found it on the weekend. Drat. :-)
Not much to report here. Still doing three jobs. I am all over the place.
I had my annual Christmas "do" for the volunteer program I am in. Yes, the Werribee Masonic Hall charity function is a hoot! I did the right thing and played a very gracious and helpful "carer" and I played my part so well they said that it was great that I loved their activities so much. Oh no. Will my acting get me invited to all their seniors activities?

Big news here. I actually did an excercise class on Saturday. Shock horror. I tried out Pilates (at 8.30am on Saturday) and really enjoyed it. Lets see if I can motivate myself for a second class!
Take care everyone.

jane - very impressed you been to pilates. at first i thought it was 830pm, then saw 830am on a sat. morning - which left me even more impressed! how was it? always wanted to try it...
karen hope you have survived your moving house and the little peanut is now devoid of spots! are you moving into the place you are simon built? (i imagine palatial like Corinthian columns and shiny marble inside)...

Hi everyone!
Woo hoo! :-)
That's it. That is all my news for now.
Take care everyone!

i think you are underplaying your life miss jane... i am sure you are much busier than you are letting on... mmm ... me thinks you are engaging in underhyperbole.
how come everyone knows ks is moving house? i didnt know.. not until i rang to ascertain the reasons as to her lack of blogging. maybe she is struck by the reflection from all that marble. lol.. funny.
saw burn after reading = the new coen brothers film. brad pitt is astoundingly good - oscar material is my guess. he has finally managed to be really really stupid. and he was stupid before.
anyway.. its recommended.
better go -- movie show starting.. oh got pay rise after 7 months of negotations... hooray
Hi everyone!
Well I have heard that Karen is back online! Congratulations Karen.
I don't have much to report here. Just working and pretending housework is exercise!
Enjoy your week everyone!
Cheers
Jane
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just typed for about 10mins.. lots of comments etc... apparently I was not signed in to blog and clicked to put comment in and lost whole thing...
Well at least you all know that I did type a nice message to each of you.. that I have no time or memory to type again...
VERY annoying
lol... finally she comes back and its all the blogs fault. apparently ks has joined weight watchers on line - we are not big enough losers.
Poor Karen...she has lost touch with technology!
:-)
Simone - here is some material for you - At the start of the year I created a weight loss spreadsheet with weekly goals and a cumulative weight loss goal versus actual calculation. I called it my Goals spreadsheet. Last month I renamed my spreadsheet to ARGH!!!!
:-)
Farewell kittens...
quiet lot. lying in bed playing computer games only weight loss possible through fingers. busy week at work...
currently on 25k on book in a month - hoping to get another 5k done this weekend as next weekend booked out with lovelies. delirious.
Hello people!
Love to all.

yes quiet group. i thought you did all that this weekend... ah alas it was two weeks ago dish.
well i got my $250 pills yesterday. got to give them the best shot to make me smart and thin like a cross between the nanny and skully. just walked 30 minutes - big effort. my new house mate russell gets up every morning at 6am and power walks for 40 minutes. makes me feel very lazy. anyway it's not right to exercise so early and in qld time its really 5am and in scotland its... mmmm... who the hell knows. those west wing watchers may remember the scene where great brains couldnt work out weather president bartlett was getting back from japan 11am or 11pm... time is confusing. ahhh but eating isnt. cooking soup before taking back videos to avoid the bad pizza shop. XXXXXXXXXXXXXx
Hi there everybody,
It has been quite quiet.
Okay, better get back to work...
Take care.
